Deomon trigger ch6 Golden star pt1.

Leaving Noir in the custody of Pamela, Envy left her office situated at the highest peak of the trigger association and found his way to the rooftop to catch a breather.

Standing over two thousand feets of the ground, the trigger associated hosted about a hundred and sixty floors and currently Envy sat on the edge of the apex of the building. With his feets hanging in empty air he soundlessly gazed at the cityscape below.

"What did you want?"

His air of silence was suddenly broke as he uttered those words to the figure that had just climbed up the rooftop.

He didn't need to look back to guess it was Ciel.

He had a habit for memorizing the presence of anyone he met and Ciel had been no exception.

"I want...to say... thank you!" She stammered a bit but successfully give her thanks.

Envy nod and waited for her to continue since he guess she wasn't done but that wait ended up stretching for an eternity since Ciel couldn't quite put into words her next sentence.

With a slight furrow he glance back to face the timid girl who seem to want to say something.

"Speak or just leave!" He demanded his tone slightly irritated.

"I'm also sorry for punching you earlier!"

She closed her eyes and give a light bow.

"Sure!"

Averting his gaze from her, he returned to gazing at the cityscape seemingly paying her no hind.

--------------

There were many legends about the sin of envy.

Among the four sins that chose to side with humanity he was the most recent activate only joining the fight against devils ten years ago but he was also the most duty bounded having defeated the most devils among his brothern.

He was dubbed a stern and no nonsense guy by many hunters in the assocation but some also pronounced him a kind individual with an odd fixation on human along with a rather severe case of hero complex.

Ciel was relatively new to the association so most of the tale she knew about him where from rumors but still she couldn't help but develop the though that Mister Envy as she liked to call him didn't like her.

Of course after the warning from the branch head she would prefer it that way but she didn't want to be on the devil badside either.

"....Mr envy!"

Raising her head she addressed him ones more.

"What?'

His irritation seems to grow by the second as he glance back again.

"..Do you hate me by chance?"

Abandoning her timid nature she decided to be more upfront.

"I don't hate you...." He begin causing Ciel to sigh but his next words shattered her confidence completely.

"....I dislike you!"

She wanted to ask why but deep down she already knew the answer so she just ended to conversation there.

Giving him a final bow, she left the rooftop in a dejected manner.

----------------

Watching the figure of the girl named Ciel slowly walked away in a dejection, he ruffle his hair in annoyance and gritted his teeths.

"...I hate selfish people"

He words stopped the girl in her tracks.

".....it might be my own self righteous speaking but I hate individual who can't bare to risk their life for something. I believe if you want to achieve something you have to put in you're all including you very life so when I say you at the every last moment trying to protect yourself solely instead of the civilians, you could say I grew a natural aversion to you!"

One had to put in their all to achieve something be it to save a life or anything of sort. He had lost a student one's because hadn't put in his all back then and while he had a reason just like the girl before him he still regretted that decision he had made with his life.

"Effort breeds result and a maximum effort breeds excellent results. Just like the equivalent exchange you have to put in you're all if your want to gain something."

"..but I was afraid to die!"

Ciel shoulder hang low a she turn to face him with tears in her eyes.

Her decision back then to save only herself was born of her desire to survive, was it so wrong to want to live.

Her parents had died an unfulfilling death ten years ago trying to protect her and she had swore not to end up like them, even if it meant she had to abandon others.

"Lies!" Envy intervene causing Ciel to grow stiff.

"You didn't care about you life, if you had you wouldn't have tried facing Nior head on!"

"...."

"See you can't refute my statement!"

"....."

As he continued to speak Ciel grew more and more sorrowful.

"You an individual that can't be committed to work because you always end up doing a half assed job and try to leave one's you can't contuine anymore."

"If you wanted to save the civilians you should've have fully committed to do it and if you felt you couldn't have saved them you might as well had stand down and watched them get slaughter by Noir!"

His words carried a sense of sharpness he rarely displayed but each of them ruthless sliced through Ciel heart.

"The moment you try to save someone you fully commit yourself to it and and don't ditch them one's the situation is tight."

This time he rose up from the roof edge and approached her.

"How do I do that?" Ciel golden eyes shimmered with confusion as she stared up at Envy.

She longed to know how fully commit herself to something so she questioned the devil before her who gently patted her shoulder.

"If I'm being honest I don't know!"
