Navigating through the thick jungle, Alyssa and Eleanor encountered the first signs of The Shroud's defenses motion sensors hidden in the trees, patrol drones buzzing overhead. They moved with practiced precision, avoiding detection as they closed in on the heart of the island.
"Up ahead," Eleanor whispered, pointing to a break in the trees.
Through the foliage, they saw it a massive bunker built into the mountain. A concrete fortress, with layers of steel doors and towers brimming with guards. Bright lights flooded the area, and automated turrets scanned the perimeter.
Alyssa knelt, surveying the scene. "We're not getting in the front door. We'll need another way."
Eleanor scanned the bunker's structure. "There ventilation shaft. It's narrow, but we can make it."
They moved quickly, hugging the shadows until they reached the base of the mountain. The shaft was barely large enough for them to fit, but it provided access directly into the heart of the facility.
Alyssa entered first, the confined space forcing her to crawl through in near darkness. After what felt like an eternity, they reached an opening that dropped into a storage room deep within the bunker. Alyssa dropped silently to the ground, Eleanor following close behind.
"We're in," Alyssa whispered, activating her comms.
Marcus's voice came through. "Good. We've managed to disable a few of their outer defenses, but the deeper systems are still active. Expect resistance."
Alyssa and Eleanor moved deeper into the bunker, weaving through corridors filled with guards and high-tech equipment. The tension grew with every step. They were getting closer to something big something that could end The Shroud's grip once and for all.
