Argus received once again a quest.

***

The system assigns quests if an enemy threatens the Vesmir World and if the Awakener has some clues on how to stop them. For example, when Argus discovered the kidnapped children, the system gave him a quest. The children told him about a man releasing crimson miasma and ordering human awakeners to kidnap children, planning to make Astrea his slave. Without this crucial information, the system wouldn't have issued a quest to address the threat.

There are two conditions for the system to issue a quest:

1. The Awakener must have clues or information about how to stop the enemy's plans.

2. The threat must be imminent or have the potential to cause major harm if not addressed promptly.

Argus encountered all three conditions for the system to issue a quest during the children incident:

1. The clues provided by the kidnapped children revealed that the man was releasing crimson miasma and ordering awakeners to kidnap children.

2.The threat posed by the man's plan was significant, as it involved the potential destruction of the Vesmir World if he succeeded.

These conditions prompted the system to assign a quest to Argus to stop the man's plans.

Argus didn't know how the System identified future threats, nor did he think deeply about it.

In other words, the Guardian Monster inside the dungeon where Argus currently entered can grow to have an ability to destroy the Vesmir World and a big threat to its inhabitants.

'That robe figure can threaten this world? Why does I can't feel it, wait no... There is something different from him the first time I saw him.'(Argus)

Argus kept his gaze on the cloaked figure for a few more moments, his thoughts running in circles. The figure looked human enough, but something was off. Argus' instincts, sharpened from countless battles, told him this was no ordinary person. Even though he didn't feel any immediate threat from the figure, he couldn't ignore the odd sensation that something about the cloaked one was... not human.

'He's not undead. So, what is he?'(Argus)

Argus thought, his brows furrowing as he tried to make sense of the strange feeling his intuition screamed at him. There was something else, something deeper, but Argus didn't have the time to dwell on it.

The butcher undead charged again, its oversized knife dragging along the ground, leaving deep cuts on the chamber floor. The noise it made was grating, but Argus stayed calm, his eyes flicking between the undead warrior and the summoning formation.

As the butcher swung its knife in another wide arc, Argus easily sidestepped, letting the weapon smash into a group of skeletons nearby. Their bones shattered from the sheer force of the attack, but the butcher seemed unbothered, readying for another swing.

He kept moving, letting the butcher take down its own allies. Meanwhile, Argus studied the glowing lines of the summoning formation, trying to figure out where its weakest point might be. He needed to disrupt it quickly, but the butcher wasn't giving him much room to think.

Suddenly, the butcher swung its knife again, and Argus barely dodged in time, using the strike to push himself closer to the formation.

'Strange... I can't the weakness of this formation?'(Argus)

Argus thought as he leaped out of the way of another attack. All the while, his eyes flicked toward the cloaked figure, still seated on the throne. Argus didn't know what its deal was, but something about the figure didn't sit right with him. It felt human, but at the same time it wasn't.

Suddenly, Argus notice something in his eyes.

'So that was it.'(Argus)

As Argus studied the formation and its glowing lines, a sudden realization hit him. His mind raced with the possibilities, but that brief moment of distraction was all the butcher needed.

Before Argus could fully react, the butcher swung its oversized knife straight at him, aiming for a devastating blow. Argus moved to dodge, but it was too late—he wasn't fast enough.

He quickly raised his Scythe to block, bracing for the impact. The butcher's strength was overwhelming. The moment the knife collided with the Scythe, a loud creak echoed through the chamber, and the weapon in his hands started to crack under the force. With a sickening snap, the Scythe broke apart, and though the impact was weakened, the force still sent Argus flying backward.

He skidded a short distance, managing to stay on his feet, his body uninjured but weaponless. Argus glanced down at the broken remains of his Scythe, but his expression remained cold, unshaken by the loss.

'Thank you for all this time. I guess this is we part ways. Do not worry, I will send them all to hell.'(Argus)

The butcher, however, stood ready, preparing for its next attack. Argus just stared at it stoically.

"Astrea, it's time."(Argus)

Summon:Astrea

Argus summoned Astrea. Astrea came out in his Demi-Human Form.

Twilight Beast Assimilation: Astrea

A sudden surge of energy flowed through Argus, catching him off guard. He felt Astrea's presence shift as she turned into light, not retreating to the Soul Sea as usual but fusing with his soul instead. Astrea entered a sleeping state within him.

As Argus activated the Beast Assimilation skill with Astrea, his body started to change. His black hair gradually turned snowy white, with hints of purple streaking through the ends. His face took on sharper, more wolf-like features.

His eyes grew keener, his senses heightened, and a powerful aura surrounded him. A long, bushy tail sprouted behind him, flicking with anticipation. His ears morphed, becoming pointed like a wolf's, covered in soft white fur with faint purple highlights.

Argus was now looks like the same as Astrea before being fused. A wolf Demi-Human.

The wolf-like aura Argus released made the butcher undead pause for a moment. It seemed confused by the sudden change, but soon it gathered its strength and charged at Argus with even more power.

The cloaked figure, seeing the shift in the battle, roared in anger and gave urgent commands to the other undead.

"Stop him at all costs! I don't care what happens to his body! Just make sure he's dead!"

The cloaked figure's voice was filled with rage.

Inside his mind, the cloaked figure was puzzled.

'What is that? I've never seen or heard of anyone fusing with a beast before. Is this some kind of forbidden skill or something? Our race has no record like that. Is this guy, would be one of those so called irregulars?'

***

There are beings that are dark and sinister entities that corrupt and empower those who are weak-willed, in despair, or inherently evil. They feed on negative emotions and twisted desires, drawing strength from the darkness within souls. Once they attach to a host's soul, they slowly consume it to gain full control over the host's body. When they have no host, they are essentially powerless, existing as parasites that amplify malice and chaos only through their control.

This race was believed to have disappeared and been completely removed from history a long time ago. They are similar to the Abyssal Race, as their only goal is to cause destruction and chaos. They existed to create mayhem and ruin everywhere they went. Their presence was a source of great trouble and disorder, and they thrived on spreading chaos. Despite being thought to be gone, their dark intentions and destructive nature are remembered as a major threat to peace and stability.

This race is similar to the Abyssal Race because they both seek destruction and chaos. They are not always allies or enemies. They might work together if their interests align, but they often take advantage of each other. They act mainly for their own benefit, spreading trouble and disorder wherever they go.

They were called the Blightspawn Race.

***

Argus's suspicion was correct. The cloaked figure was not human anymore but had become a member of the Blightspawn Race. This race had returned with a dark purpose. Their higher-ups had planned a massive campaign of terror across Vesmir. They intended to do more than just cause Dungeon Breaks; they were also unleashing beast hordes to mark their return and create widespread chaos.

The emergency faced by the Obscurite Family was part of this larger, malevolent scheme. The Blightspawn's actions had triggered not only Dungeon Breaks but also waves of beasts attacking various regions. Their aim was to sow fear and devastation, signaling their intent to conquer and ravage the continent.

Argus is of course did not know about it yet or the information about the Blightspawn Race yet as he has yet to learn about it. He was just focused on his current power.

'2 minutes and 30 seconds? It's longer than I thought.'(Argus)

Argus muttered as he felt the time limit his Soul Power can handle.

'As for weapon.'(Argus)

Thud

A heavy metal can be heard falling in front of him. A smirk appeared on his stoic face.
