**Chapter 198: Justin and Britney Are Getting Back Together**

Downstairs, as night fell, the city lights were shining brightly.

Tonight was Britney's party, starting shortly after the evening concert ended.

A lot of people showed up to the party, mostly Britney's colleagues, peers, and friends—an array of stars.

Familiar faces could be seen everywhere: on the lawn, by the pool, in the café, and in the studio. People were mingling, talking loudly, and celebrating the concert's success, enjoying the lively atmosphere.

"Hey, Luca, where did you just go?"

Luca had come downstairs and bumped into Fanny wandering through the crowd.

"Just went to the bathroom upstairs—too many people downstairs."

Luca shrugged and set down his empty glass.

"Haha, yeah, the downstairs bathroom's too busy. When I went in, I even saw two people making out."

Fanny winked and laughed.

Luca chuckled lightly. It was nothing unusual. Musician parties were the wildest because they embraced freedom and often indulged in whatever they felt like doing. Kissing, brawling, and other chaos were pretty common at such parties—that's what made them special.

"Haha, I couldn't find a spot to pee, so I had to make do. There I was, doing my business while they were making out next to me—so thrilling! This party is awesome. Thanks for bringing me, Uncle Luca!"

Fanny's face flushed, her words becoming a bit jumbled.

"Have you been drinking?"

Luca took the champagne glass from her and gave it a sniff. She had secretly swapped out the champagne for whiskey.

Seeing him frown, Fanny grew a bit nervous.

"Uncle Luca, it's a party! How could you not drink at a party? You can't criticize me."

Luca set the glass back down.

"I didn't say you couldn't drink. You're seventeen—you can drink champagne, beer, even wine, but no hard liquor. I'm your temporary guardian, and it's my responsibility to watch out for you."

"I don't drink wine—it's not cool at all."

Fanny glanced disdainfully at the wine glass in his hand, curling her lip.

Seeing Luca's brow furrow, she quickly waved her hands.

"Alright, alright, I won't drink anymore. Happy?"

"You said it!"

Luca smiled and handed her a soda. "Come on, don't you have a new song? There are so many musicians here at the party—maybe someone will appreciate your work."

Fanny looked at the soda in her hand and pouted. So old-fashioned, like someone who belonged in the '50s or '60s. Maybe he really was from that era? He might even be a vampire! That's probably why he looks so young. And Kate too—how else could she write such great vampire novels? Haha, that's definitely it.

"Right, Fanny?" Luca called out, snapping her from her thoughts.

"Uh, what?"

Fanny flicked her hair back and quickly erased the smile from her face, her gaze drifting to the wine in his glass. Was it blood? Did he go upstairs not to use the bathroom but to bite someone's neck? How thrilling!

"What are you thinking about?" Luca asked, frowning. "Are you mad? Fine, if you want to drink, go ahead. I won't stop you."

"I'm not!"

Fanny waved her hands frantically, catching up to him. "What did you say again?"

"I asked if you want to perform your new song."

Luca pointed toward the illuminated lawn, where a band was performing and people were singing loudly, surrounded by a cheering crowd.

Fanny glanced over. The lead singer of B2K was on stage, and she shook her head.

"I'd rather not—they're all big stars."

"Hey, Fanny, you're a big star too!"

Luca pulled her by the arm. "Let's go check it out. Ryan and the others are there too."

"Alright."

Fanny nodded and, as they walked, shot a glance at his wine glass. "Uncle Luca, can I taste your wine?"

"Here you go."

Luca handed it to her.

Fanny took a careful sip. It wasn't blood—how disappointing.

And please don't cry

I know how you feel inside

I've been there before

Something's changing inside you...

On the lawn, a group of people were singing and dancing.

B2K's lead singer, Kost, was strumming a guitar, belting out Guns N' Roses' "Don't Cry," his voice tearing through the air as if his wife had run off with someone else.

A lot of people were howling along, raising their bottles and pumping their fists, creating a thrilling atmosphere.

"Hey, Ryan, Rachel! You guys into rock too?" Luca greeted them.

"Of course! Who doesn't love rock?" Ryan replied.

"No, Luca doesn't. He says rock stars are just people who eat too much and can't digest it."

Fanny loudly exposed him.

"Don't spread nonsense!"

With so many rock fans around, that kind of talk wouldn't go over well.

"Haha, scared now? Look around! This is rock—it's a spirit, not just something for the bored."

Fanny waved her fist dramatically.

"Fine, I was wrong."

"Forgiven!"

Fanny laughed heartily, then joined the rock crowd.

Luca shook his head. Too grudging.

"Luca, I've been curious about something. Can I ask you?" Rachel asked, a playful smile on her lips.

"What?"

"At the concert today, when Britney knelt in front of you—was she proposing?"

Ryan raised his eyebrows, shooting Luca a meaningful look.

Luca shook his head. "Of course not. Come on, you know Britney's knee is injured. It was just a little uncomfortable for her at that moment."

"Is that so?"

Rachel blinked, exchanged a glance with Ryan, and they both chuckled, not quite buying his explanation.

Luca shrugged. It was a sensitive topic. If it got out of hand, it could turn into global news, and he had no desire to end up on the front page.

"Luca, I'm going up to sing! Cheer me on!" Fanny called out as she approached.

"Go, Fanny! You're the best!"

Luca cheered, pumping his fist.

"Haha, of course I am!"

Fanny squeezed through the crowd again.

After a moment, she walked out front with a guitar.

"Who's this little girl? You're in the wrong place—this is a rock zone."

"Yeah, young lady, rock isn't your thing."

"Get down! We don't want to hear your sheep voice!"

As Fanny took the stage, a group of people heckled loudly. Fanny was dressed in a white Chanel gown, with her hair tied up and her fair skin glowing—she looked like a goody two-shoes.

"Shut your filthy mouths!"

Fanny shouted, suddenly tearing off her dress, letting her hair down, and grabbing a bottle of beer. She tipped it back, drenching her neck and chest.

"Wow! Cool! So cool!"

"What a badass chick!"

The crowd was stunned for a moment, then burst into applause, thoroughly impressed by her outfit transformation.

"Haha, Luca, Fanny's way more fun than you!" Rachel laughed.

Luca twitched. The effort he put into making her look nice before coming to the party was now totally wasted.

"Shut up and listen to me sing!!"

Fanny yelled, strumming her guitar and belting out a song.

**Just have a little patience**

**I'm still hurting from a love I lost**

**I'm feeling your frustration**

**Then maybe all the pain will stop...**

She sang Guns N' Roses' song "Patience," a track that's tough to pull off because it demands a lot of emotional depth.

But Fanny handled it with ease. Despite her petite frame, she had a big voice and a wide vocal range. She effortlessly nailed the transitions, moving through the song with power and emotion.

She stood on top of a speaker, whipping her white hair wildly, her movements fierce.

The crowd waved their arms and cheered, the energy in the place sky-high—just as intense as when the stars had performed.

"Wow! Fanny's amazing!" Britney had walked over by then. Seeing Fanny in her element, and Luca's darkened face, she couldn't help but smirk.

"Luca, what's up? You look a little off."

"I'm fine. Totally fine!"

Luca wiped his face. "Britney, could you find Fanny some clothes? She shouldn't be dressed like that."

"Haha, everyone's listening to the music and all you can think about is getting her clothes?"

Britney laughed out loud.

Luca shrugged. "I'm her temporary guardian. I'm responsible for her."

"Alright, alright, Mr. Guardian. When Fanny's done, I'll have Felicia take her to change."

Britney smiled.

"Thanks!"

Luca smiled back.

"Haha, Luca, did you see that? Now *that's* rock!"

Fanny came running over, bursting with excitement.

"Yes, you were great and performed excellently, but go change your clothes first!"

Luca praised her with a smile before his expression turned stern.

"..."

Fanny rolled her eyes and grudgingly followed Felicia.

Britney and Rachel couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Luca, you sound like a strict godfather!"

"Yeah, such an old-fashioned guy! I have no idea how Fanny became friends with you."

The two teased.

Luca shrugged, about to say something, when suddenly, the crowd erupted into excited shouts.

"Whoa~ Look, Justin's here!"

"Justin's about to sing!"

"Justin, 'Like I Love You!'"

At the front of the crowd, Justin waved, carrying a guitar on his back, and sat on a high stool, softly starting to sing.

*Ain't nobody love you like I love you

Can you love me like I do

You're a good girl and that's what makes me trust you*

The song wasn't rock, but it didn't matter. Everyone was listening intently, some waving their hands, some singing along, others harmonizing.

In the crowd, Luca glanced at Britney beside him and suddenly remembered what Fanny had said. Bringing his girlfriend to watch his rumored ex's concert? Now what?

"Luca, did you know Justin just wrote this song?"

Christina had arrived as well. She looked at Justin in the crowd and softly said, "Earlier today, he heard Britney's apology from the audience, got inspired, and wrote this song on the spot. Listen closely—Justin still loves Britney."

"So what?" Luca asked.

"So what?" Christina chuckled meaningfully. "Do you know why Justin chose to sing this song here, now, in front of Britney?"

"Why?"

"I'll tell you a secret—Justin wants to get back together."

Christina covered her mouth, laughing softly. "He just told me that himself."

Luca looked at the people in front of him, then glanced at Britney, quietly listening to the song. "So?"

Christina smiled seductively. "If I were you, I'd leave before it gets awkward. When they reconcile, you won't want to be around, will you?"

Luca thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Nah, I'm pretty thick-skinned."

Christina snorted. "I can tell. You're betting on Britney, huh? You think she likes you because you assume she's forgotten about Justin? Ha, you're dead wrong! You don't know the past, nor do you understand how deep their love was, or how much Britney still loves Justin.

Last time they broke up, it was Justin who ended it. Britney never wanted to break up; she's still waiting for him, still in love with him.

If Justin wants to get back together, Britney would never say no."

"This song is for Britney!"

Suddenly, Justin declared loudly mid-performance.

Boom!!!

The crowd fell silent for a second, then erupted into cheers.

Everyone clapped and shouted in approval, surprised by Justin, then looking at Britney.

Justin was singing a love song for Britney.

Is this a sign they're getting back together?

Would Britney say yes?
