Luo Bai was confused.
The dark dimension had opened automatically, something he didn't expect at all. After all, he had only been studying the "Book of Darkness" for two days!
While possessing the "Book of Darkness" provides the conditions to open the dark dimension, that's all it is—just a condition!
In essence, the "Book of Darkness" isn't much different from other magical tomes. It's a supplementary source of knowledge and skills for mastering dark magic.
So, not every user can successfully open the dark dimension.
Even though Luo Bai knew his powers would eventually open the dark dimension, he hadn't wanted it to happen so soon!
The problem is, opening the dark dimension means Luo Bai now has to maintain strong control, or risk being corrupted by it. This was unacceptable to him.
To Luo Bai, being consumed by the darkness and losing control of his will was no different from becoming a slave to it.
And that was only the first problem.
The second issue was that the dark dimension was home to many powerful dark entities.
It was as if Luo Bai had opened a dangerous portal into a world of darkness. Although he could continuously absorb dark energy and grow stronger, it also meant that dark beings like Dormammu could find him at any time through this dimension.
According to Luo Bai's original plan, he simply wanted to absorb some dark energy to improve his powers without drawing attention.
Now, the dark dimension had opened on its own.
And then, there was Chthon.
Chthon, the ancient dark god, seemed obsessed with claiming his soul!
"Come on, Chthon, don't be so pushy!" Luo Bai sighed.
Though he was frustrated on the outside, deep down, Luo Bai couldn't help but be tempted to explore the dark dimension.
It wasn't as terrifying as it was often portrayed. In fact, it felt like a vast, fantastic universe, full of mysterious knowledge just waiting to be discovered.
But Luo Bai understood that this was only the surface. If he ventured too deep, greater dangers would surely await.
Fortunately, Luo Bai wasn't greedy.
He decided against going deeper and instead focused on learning dark magic within the dark dimension.
This study took several days.
When he finally opened his eyes again, Luo Bai had left the dark dimension, and his soul returned to his body.
Looking at the familiar surroundings of the New York Sanctum, Luo Bai muttered to himself, "Not bad at all."
Thankfully, his magic background was strong enough, and luck had been on his side. Otherwise, he might not have made it out of the dark dimension with his mind intact.
Still, his journey into the dark dimension wasn't without its rewards. Luo Bai could feel that his power had increased by several levels.
But it wasn't just power that he sensed. He had also encountered something else: Origin Magic.
This reminded him of something.
According to his knowledge of the storyline, the current user of Origin Magic was Wanda.
Origin Magic was a special kind of magic, extremely powerful, but it seemed that Wanda didn't fully understand its potential yet.
Just thinking about Wanda gave Luo Bai a headache.
In the movie's plot, Wanda obtained the ability to control Origin Magic through human experiments conducted by Hydra, using the power of the Mind Stone.
But now, with the Mind Stone in Luo Bai's possession, Wanda hadn't yet learned to control Origin Magic. However, it was only a matter of time before she gained this ability through other means and awakened her magical potential.
The real problem was Wanda's fragile psyche. She could easily be pushed to the dark side.
Once Wanda turned dark, she wouldn't be able to control her power, and that would lead to chaos. As powerful as she was, a Blackened Wanda would be a force of destruction.
Luo Bai figured it was better to bring Wanda under his guidance while she still lacked understanding of her powers. It would give him a chance to teach her how to control her abilities.
With this in mind, Luo Bai adjusted the power within him and opened a portal.
At Hydra's Base...
In one of the laboratories, Wanda and Quicksilver were both sitting quietly.
Suddenly, they sensed something strange.
The scene around them began to change, and it seemed like they had entered another dimension.
Before either of them could react, a mysterious man appeared before them.
The sudden arrival of a stranger put the siblings on high alert.
"Who are you?!" Wanda asked, her voice tense with suspicion.
"My name is Luo Bai, and I'm a mage from Kamar-Taj," Luo Bai replied politely.
Wanda remained wary, her brow furrowed. "A mage? What are you doing here?"
"I've come to speak with you. I wanted to know if you're interested in learning magic," Luo Bai said calmly.
"Learning magic?" Wanda was taken aback, confusion clear in her eyes. "What do you mean?"
Luo Bai smiled. "I think you have great potential. If you study hard, you could become an extraordinary mage."
Wanda glanced around, still unsure. "You mean like you?"
"I believe you can become even more powerful than I am," Luo Bai replied after a brief pause.
Wanda didn't say anything at first, but she seemed intrigued.
Sensing her hesitation, Luo Bai added, "Instead of staying here and being subjected to Hydra's experiments, why not come with me? I can teach you how to use your abilities. I can promise you a stable environment, where you won't have to live in fear or wander aimlessly."
Luo Bai knew that Wanda's deepest desire was for stability.
A stable place to live was exactly what he could offer her.
Still, Wanda remained cautious. "Why should I trust you?" she asked.
Luo Bai smiled again, his tone calm and reassuring. "Because I'm the Sorcerer Supreme, and my duty is to protect this world. I also know about your past—how a missile destroyed your home and took your family away. If you trust me, I can help you find a future that's more stable."
His words seemed to strike a chord with her.
Wanda looked around at the surroundings, realizing that the strange place they were in was no ordinary space. Luo Bai had immense power—there was no doubt about that.
Still, she seemed hesitant.
"Can you help me get revenge?" Wanda asked after a moment of silence.
"You mean on Stark?" Luo Bai asked knowingly.
Wanda nodded.
Luo Bai had expected this. He knew that Wanda held a deep grudge against Tony Stark, whose company's missiles had destroyed her home.
But from Luo Bai's perspective, this was a misunderstanding that could be resolved.
"To be honest, I can't get you revenge," Luo Bai said calmly. "I have no issue with Stark—we're actually on good terms. But I can help you meet him. Maybe it's better to resolve your conflict face to face."
"You can help me meet Stark?" Wanda asked, her eyes widening with surprise.
Luo Bai nodded, and after a brief pause, Wanda agreed to go with him.
