Madelyn said hello to Edmund Johnson and got dressed and was about to go out when she saw Chad Byron coming the other way.

"Madelyn," Chad Byron said with a big smile on his face, "Are you here to see Alexander?"

"Yes. Are you here to see him, too? I just got out of there. Dr. Johnson's there. You can go right in. I'll go back now."

Madelyn said lightly and was ready to walk out. Chad Byron stopped her with a smile and said, "No, I'm not going in today. Why don't I show you around?"

Chad Byron said that and went to take Madelyn's hand. Madelyn winced and said to Chad Byron, "Thank you for your kindness. I can walk myself."

Chad Byron didn't say anything more to Madelyn because she was so sensitive. He smiled and showed her around.

Looking at the scenery inside the garden, Madelyn's mood was much better. When she saw the flowers blooming right beside the fountain, she could not help going forward.

"Ouch…" Madelyn slipped and fell backwards. Chad Byron quickly grabbed her up. "Are you okay?"

Madelyn slowly opened her eyes and saw that Chad Byron was holding her. She was a few centimeters away from him. He was below and she was above, in a very ambiguous position.

Madelyn scrambled to her feet, but then she slipped and was on top of Chad Byron again. She was like a cat on hot bricks.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." Madelyn was on the verge of tears. If The Byron family saw this, they would get the wrong idea.

Chad Byron looked at the terrified woman, lifted his head close to Madelyn's ear and said, "Let's just make it real."

Madelyn bounced on top of Chad Byron and quickly ran to the house.

Chad Byron stood up and patted the dust off his face with an unexplained smile.

Madelyn tidied up her clothes and walked slowly into the living room. Owen came out of the kitchen and saw her coming back. "You're back," he said. "Dinner will be served in a few minutes, you go to the bedroom to rest for a while, and I will call you for dinner."

"Okay, I'll go up first." Madelyn turned and walked quickly upstairs.

"Mr. Byron!"

Chad Byron was happy to see Madelyn's back as if she were on the run.

Laurie was sitting idly on the sofa watching variety shows. Now she was in a good mood. Madelyn married into The Byron family. There would be no more competition for the company. Her heart flattered at the thought.

"Mom, I'm back." Daisy, wearing a small dress, walked over to Laurie and sat down.

"Mom, is Madelyn gonna be back tomorrow?" Daisy asked, picking up a grape and eating it.

"Yes. Tomorrow is her return day. She should be back."

As she asked, Laurie turned to her calculating daughter and asked, "Daisy, you're not going to have anything to announce to me and your dad tomorrow, are you?"

Daisy took Laurie's arm and smiled. ""Nothing. Just John Sawyer is coming over to our house for lunch tomorrow, and then…"

A calculating smile spread across Daisy's delicate little face.

In The Byron's.

At The dinner table, The Byron family was sitting at the table eating.

"Madelyn, you just got here today, so if there is anything you are not used to, you can tell me or Chad, as you like." The Old Mrs. Byron said with concern.

Madelyn was eating with her head down. When The Old Mrs. Byron asked her, she looked up and said, "I will, Grandma."

Darren Byron finished his meal, wiped his mouth, looked at Madelyn and said, "Madelyn, tomorrow is your day back, so I'll have the housekeeper prepare the gift, and have Chad drive you there."

"I'm full. Mom. Take your time." Darren Byron wiped his mouth, stood up and headed to his study.

Madelyn suddenly stood up and shouted nervously, "Dad, I'll just have the driver take me home tomorrow. Chad has to go to work too, it needn't be so much trouble."

Darren Byron stopped and looked back at Chad Byron at the table, then looked at Madelyn and said, "Whatever."

"Thank you, dad."

Madelyn sat back down at the table and saw Chad Byron eating as if he hadn't heard anything.

The Old Mrs. Byron saw that she was not eating and urged her, "Madelyn, eat."

Madelyn smiled at her, then looked down and continued eating.

The next morning.

"Dad…"

Madelyn got out of the car and saw Andrew Davis waiting in the doorway. She threw herself coquetry into Andrew Davis's arms with tears in her eyes.

"I'm so glad to see you back. Let's go inside." Madelyn took Andrew Davis's hand in hers and walked happily inside.

"Madelyn, hi!" Madelyn's smile froze. Why was John Sawyer here?

Andrew Davis did not know that Madelyn had dated John Sawyer. He said quietly, "Daisy and John are going to be engaged. I will let you know when the date is set."

Madelyn adjusted herself, gave John Sawyer a faint nod, and there was nothing wrong with her expression. "Congratulations and good luck."

"Thank you for your blessing. We will be happy." Daisy put her arm through John Sawyer's and smiled sweetly.

"But you are so young to be widowed, I really feel bad for you." Said Daisy sarcastically.

John Sawyer saw Madelyn's face grow more and more serious and shouted, "Daisy, shut up."

"Madelyn, dinner is ready." Andrew Davis didn't know what had just happened, so he didn't say anything.

Madelyn smiled and went into the living room and sat down next to Andrew Davis. John Sawyer tore Daisy's hand away and walked straight to the table and sat down.

Madelyn had a quiet dinner with Andrew Davis.

It was 8:00 p. m. when she returned to The Byron's. After taking a bath, Madelyn felt a little thirsty. Seeing that there was no water in the room, she went downstairs to get some water to drink.

Madelyn walked to the corner of the hallway and was pulled into the corner by a strong hand. Before Madelyn knew it, her mouth was sealed.

"What…"

Madelyn was so angry and she stomped on Chad Byron's foot. "Ouch!"

Chad Byron let go of Madelyn in pain. The smile on his face became ambiguous.

"Madelyn, I really like you."

Madelyn was about to cry. "Chad Byron, what are you trying to do?" she said.

"What do I want? Didn't you just see that?" Chad Byron said with a cheery grin.

There was a bang and a maid ran out in panic.

Madelyn's face turned black with fear. If it got out, she would never be able to explain it.

She was terrified. And Chad Byron comforted Madelyn by saying, "As long as you would listen to me, I promise it'll be fine."
