Xander entered the house, his mind already weighing the conversation he would soon have with his Aurora. The guilt sat heavily on his chest, but he had known from the start that there was no way around it.
As soon as he stepped inside, Nene approached him with a polite nod. "Sir, Ma'am is upstairs. She came home early today."
Xander gave a short nod. "Alright. Thank you, Nene."
He took the stairs two at a time, each step adding to the tension in his chest. When he entered their bedroom, he noticed Aurora wasn't in sight, but the faint sound of running water came from the bathroom.
Letting out a small breath, he loosened his tie and made his way to the dressing room. He took off his shoes, belt, tie, and cufflinks, placing them neatly aside before unbuttoning the first few buttons of his shirt. His muscles were taut, knowing that the truth was inevitable.
Pushing the thoughts aside, he stepped into the bathroom.
