Losing His Wife

Aurora sat quietly in the backseat, her gaze fixed on the sky. The moment her car turned toward the main entrance of the house, her sharp eyes caught something—an unsettling shift in the security movements.

The guards were more discreet today, moving in a manner that suggested they were trying not to be seen. Their rotations were tighter, and their positions more strategic. It was subtle, but Aurora noticed.

Her hands curled into fists on her lap. 'Xander, I hope you won't disappoint me.'

The car came to a stop. The butler immediately stepped forward and opened the door for her. "Welcome home, Ma'am."

Aurora exhaled and stepped out, shrugging off her coat. The butler took it from her with a bow.

As she walked inside, Nene greeted her with a warm smile, reaching for the coat from the butler. "Welcome back, Ma'am."

Aurora nodded in acknowledgement. "Is my husband home?"

"Yes," Nene answered. "He's in the study with Mr. Moore."
