At the other end of the city...
The aroma of freshly baked pastries filled the cozy air of the upscale confectionery store as Abigail and her mother, Evelyn Miller, sat at a small, elegantly decorated table near the window.
Through the glass, the bustling city streets of Wing City unfolded before them, but Abigail's focus was firmly on the cup of coffee she stirred absentmindedly.
Her mother, on the other hand, was watching her with a knowing expression.
"So, tell me," Evelyn started, cutting into her slice of cheesecake, "are you dating anyone?"
Abigail didn't even flinch. She had expected this question—her mother never failed to bring it up whenever they had a quiet moment together. With a sigh, she took a sip of her coffee before replying flatly, "No."
Evelyn frowned slightly. "And why is that?"
"Because I don't have the time," Abigail said matter-of-factly.
