Stella stiffened, her rage deflecting as soon as she was asked that question.
Olivia's eyes flashed. "Tell me the truth."
There was no way to lie now. Stella took a deep breath and admitted, "Yes."
A chill ran down Olivia's spine. "How could you be so cruel? You took someone's eye over something so small?"
Stella's expression hardened. "She went against me. She tried to expose you. And I did what I had to do to protect you."
Olivia's stomach churned with disgust.
She had always known her mother was ruthless—but this? This was another level of evil.
For the first time in her life, Olivia saw her mother for exactly who she was. Accidentally killing her father wasn't enough and now, she had the zeal to go after plucking people's eyes.
And she loathed her for that.
Olivia pushed back her chair and stood up. "Enjoy the rest of your miserable life, Mother. We're done." She was completely done with her.
