A Tangled Web of Truths

The air felt suffocating, heavy with the weight of revelations and threats.

Bruno's confession hung in the air, raw and vulnerable. My chest tightened as I stared at him, his piercing gaze locked onto mine.

I wanted to believe him—wanted to trust that his words held no ulterior motives—but the amount of lies and manipulation between us made it impossible to accept anything at face value.

I turned my attention to Marcy, her presence still a jarring shock.

She stood with quiet confidence, her eyes flicking from Adrian's trembling hands gripping the gun to me.

"Marcy," I said, my voice trembling, "if Bruno is telling the truth, then how do you know? How can you be so sure?"

Marcy glanced at Bruno, who gave her a small nod of encouragement.

She stepped closer to me, her voice steady and calm as she began to explain.
