Chapter 83: Rita cannot rise again

"Mr. Sora, can you pass me the piping bag?" Rita and Sora were busy in the first-floor lobby of the dessert shop again.

There had been a lot of guests these days. To be honest, if it weren't for Rita, who had been helping out all this time, Sora might have really considered hiring other people. Even though Sora was very capable, he couldn't handle everything in the store alone.

The tacit cooperation between the two occasionally caused misunderstandings among some regular customers. Some even thought that he and Kiana were divorced and that Rita was his new girlfriend.

In response, he could only smile and patiently explain to his regular customers one by one that Rita, who had been helping out, was just a friend of Kiana's. She had been assisting at the shop because it had been too busy lately.

Being upright and honest, Sora had nothing to fear, and this quelled the rumors that had just begun to emerge.

"Rita, here's the piping bag for you..." Sora handed the piping bag filled with milky white cream to Rita.

The moment their hands touched, Rita gently scratched Sora's palm with her fingers, whether intentionally or not.

This playful action made Sora feel as if he had been electrocuted, and he immediately withdrew his hand.

"What's wrong? Is there static electricity on my body?" Rita looked at Sora with her big, watery eyes as he pulled his hand away.

"It's nothing... maybe I overreacted." Sora took a deep breath and looked at Rita, who had an innocent expression on her face.

'Maybe I'm just too sensitive... but I feel like Rita is acting a little strange today.'

Sora turned his back to Rita, trying to calm the slight restlessness in his heart.

Rita looked at Sora's back, laughing silently. No longer hiding her emotions, the heat in her eyes seemed to burn through the clothes of the person in front of her.

Rita licked her tempting lips 'Captain, you can't run away...'

Then she turned back, looking no different from usual, except if someone looked closely at Rita at this moment, they would see her long legs covered in black stockings, rubbing slightly against each other from time to time—revealing her own unrest.

"Ha..." Rita exhaled softly, her cheeks slightly flushed, and said to Sora, "I feel a little uncomfortable. Can I go upstairs and rest for a while?"

"Hmm?" Sora turned around and saw Rita's slightly flushed face and somewhat dazed eyes.

He immediately placed the back of his hand on Rita's forehead with concern, frowning slightly. "It is indeed a bit hot..."

"Are you tired recently?" He spoke with some guilt, "I've been asking you to help out so much recently; maybe the workload is a bit too intense."

"These tasks are nothing." Rita crossed her arms over her chest, unintentionally pressing down the front of her uniform, making it more conspicuous and...magnificent.

"I have the habit of sleeping naked..." Rita's voice was more seductive than usual, her big, twinkling eyes misted over. "I might have caught a slight cold."

"Oh..." Sora awkwardly touched his nose and turned his head away slightly.

It was obvious that, under Rita's intentional or unintentional guidance, Sora's mind had wandered to certain thoughts not suited for polite company...

After all, it was human nature.

But this brief association made Sora feel a bit guilty. 'Sora! Miss Rita trusted you, telling you her little life habits without any scruples! And here you are, thinking about her inappropriately! Shameless!'

After thoroughly reprimanding himself, Sora's gaze became clear once more, despite Rita's alluring and somewhat disappointed expression.

"Ah, since you're feeling unwell, Miss Rita, you should take a good rest today," Sora said quickly.

"It's just a minor illness, it's nothing..." Rita had barely finished speaking when a voice came from the stairs leading to the second floor: "If you're sick, you should rest!"

"If people knew Miss Rita was unwell and we still had you working, they'd think we were being terrible bosses."

Kiana, with her big pregnant belly, slowly descended the stairs from the second floor.

After addressing Rita, Kiana turned to Sora with a mischievous smile: "Don't you think so, my dear... husband~~"

Rita's playful and coquettish expression flickered with a trace of gloom that was imperceptible to outsiders.

Kiana's demeanor at this moment resembled a victorious rooster.

Of course, Sora, unaware of the deeper undertones, only saw that his wife seemed to be in a good mood.

"Kiana, stop making trouble... there are outsiders here..." Sora, overwhelmed by his wife's affectionate teasing, could only pretend to scold her.

But rather than a scolding, it seemed more like an affectionate display.

"Take Miss Rita upstairs, get the medicine box, and give her some medicine so she can rest properly."

"Okay, Captain..." Kiana walked slowly toward Sora, pointing to her lips and looking at him expectantly.

"There are outsiders..." Sora, always a bit bashful, looked at Rita with a subtle, apologetic glance.

Rita responded with a smile, though it seemed somewhat forced, and under the counter, her hands gripped the hem of her maid uniform tightly, nearly tearing the well-crafted fabric.

Sora turned back to look at his wife and saw Kiana pouting with frustration.

It seemed like she wouldn't leave unless he kissed her.

Finally, he sighed helplessly and gently touched Kiana's forehead with his lips.

"Be good... you're going to be a mother soon, stop causing trouble." After speaking, Sora reached out to touch Kiana's huge belly.

In a few days, they would go to the hospital for the birth, and now, even the baby's movements were palpable in Kiana's belly.

The little life inside seemed to be still kicking him...
