Chapter 305: A Trio Arrives
Li Meng got out of bed.
The cloth strips on the clothes rack flew over automatically, wrapping around Li Meng's body.
The black robe followed closely, enveloping him completely.
Dressing and undressing took him only a second.
Seeing Jacqueline still sitting on the bed in a daze, Li Meng gave a faint smile.
"Let's go. I think you should face him with me."
Li Meng's words brought Jacqueline back to her senses.
Yes, she needed to stay by this monster's side.
If she wasn't there, he might carelessly kill Alpha.
Jacqueline hurriedly got out of bed and picked up her scattered clothes.

Meanwhile, outside the Brotherhood's southern gate:
Moments ago, a beast-drawn carriage had arrived on the street outside the southern gate.
Three figures stepped off the carriage.
One was a human, white-haired and clad in a water-blue mage's robe.
Another was an ape-like warrior, tall and muscular, with a massive axe slung over his shoulder.
The last was a red-scaled dragon-kin in red battle armor, carrying a greatsword on his shoulder.
"Oh my! Isn't that Alpha, the Tower Master of the Water Magic Tower?"
"And that dragon-kin in red armor… isn't that the Red God of War, Brunfield?"
"No way, that's the God of War!"
"And look at that ape-like warrior… I've seen him before. That's the Berserk Emperor, Hercules!"
The three figures on the street sparked heated discussions among the adventurers on the Brotherhood's city walls.
Three powerhouses appearing simultaneously in one place—it was a rare sight.
"Boss… boss might be in trouble now!"
The adventurers were thrilled yet tense. These were clearly enemies of the Brotherhood.
As the adventurers whispered among themselves, the trio stopped about fifty meters from the southern gate.
"Alpha, you're getting more useless with age. You even lost your partner. Hmph!"
Brunfield, clad in red armor, snorted coldly, glaring at Alpha.
A trace of embarrassment flashed in Alpha's eyes.
He could understand Brunfield's anger. After all, both of them had once pursued Jacqueline.
In the end, Jacqueline had chosen him, a human, leaving Brunfield perpetually dissatisfied.
"If you lost her, just take her back. Alpha, I'll help you!"
Hercules, the Berserk Emperor, spoke naively.
Alpha glanced slightly toward a towering structure on the city's edge—a famous brothel in Maze City.
"Quite the crowd watching us. Hmph!"
Alpha's cold snort drew Brunfield's attention to the brothel in the distance.
"The Brotherhood Thieves' Guild was suddenly wiped out, and a new Brotherhood rose just as quickly. Its new leader, Silver Mask, is both mysterious and powerful. Defeating the Red Sword Emperor Jacqueline in two moves and possessing magical brew capable of regenerating limbs… such events were bound to attract attention from the city's factions."
Brunfield grinned wickedly.
"If that guy loses this fight, Alpha, you're not planning to share all the benefits with those others, are you?"
Alpha's aged face broke into a faint smile.
"We agreed. Four parts for you, four for me, two for Hercules."
Satisfied, Brunfield nodded. While he was willing to join Alpha in this risky endeavor, his primary motivation was Jacqueline.
Alpha was human and would likely die of old age within a few years. Then, he'd have his chance to pursue Jacqueline again.
Jacqueline had always liked him. If not for Alpha, she'd already be his partner.
This was his chance to make an impression.
"Lord Alpha, it's Lady Jacqueline!"
Hercules' reminder snapped Alpha and Brunfield to attention.
They quickly turned their gaze from the brothel to the southern gate.
In their view, Jacqueline and a strange figure emerged from the gate.
Seeing Jacqueline unharmed, with no visible injuries, Alpha and Brunfield both sighed in relief.
At the gate, Li Meng and Jacqueline came to a halt.
Looking at the trio in the distance, greed flickered in Li Meng's eyes.
These three were among the strongest of the strong. Even if they didn't rank on the Breakthrough List, they were undoubtedly top-tier figures in Maze City.
If he could devour them, his attribute points would increase by thousands.
Unfortunately, the power of intelligent races came from divine blessings, and their innate skills couldn't be absorbed.
He could only consume their flesh to strengthen his body.
But it was just a thought. These three were off-limits.
To establish himself in Maze City, he couldn't rely on slaughter alone.
"What brings you here?"
Li Meng gave the trio no chance to speak with Jacqueline. His deep voice echoed across the street, drawing their attention to him.
Alpha stepped forward, his expression shifting slightly.
"Sir, I have no intention of opposing you. I am Alpha, Tower Master of the Water Magic Tower. Jacqueline is my partner. Please return her to me. If she has offended you in any way, I will personally come to apologize another day."
Alpha's gaze turned to Jacqueline.
Under his gaze, Jacqueline felt uneasy. She avoided his eyes and forced an awkward smile, which deepened the furrow in Alpha's brow.
Jacqueline's reaction unsettled him.
"Impossible. Jacqueline is already…"
Li Meng's words made Jacqueline panic.
She quickly moved closer to him, tugging at his sleeve.
"Master, can you just say I lost and agreed to serve the Brotherhood for ten years?"
Alpha was old, and Jacqueline didn't want him to die with regrets.
Li Meng looked down at Jacqueline, his gaze deep.
"From now on, call me Boss."
Jacqueline nodded gratefully.
"You should explain this to him. It's better coming from you than me."
Hesitation flickered in Jacqueline's eyes.
She didn't know how to face Alpha, but Li Meng was right. Her words would carry more weight.
Taking a deep breath, Jacqueline's expression turned resolute. She stepped forward toward the trio.
Seeing her approach, the trio's expressions shifted.
Jacqueline's movement, while Silver Mask stayed put, indicated her freedom.
She had willingly stayed with the Brotherhood.
"Jacqueline, are you… are you okay?"
As she drew closer, Alpha couldn't help but step forward to meet her.
Jacqueline reached out and took his hands in hers.
Facing Alpha's worried gaze, she smiled and shook her head.
"I'm fine. I'm doing well."
