The girl's eyes bulged in surprise. She looked back and forth between Mr. Tim and the man, confirming that the one Mr. Tim had just called Mr. Keenan was him.
The man called Mr. Keenan, now turned his gaze and stared at Valery, making her gulp her saliva with difficulty. His gaze was intense, although his face was gentle, but his scanning gaze made Valery feel nervous.
Silence. The man didn't say anything; he just rested his head back on his fist while opening his book again and flipping through it. He didn't show much interest in Valery, just a nod and a shake of the hand from him was enough to make Mr. Tim nod in understanding. He then turned to face Valery and smiled, his words suddenly made the dreamy girl wake up.
"Miss, let me take you to your room." hearing that, Valery hurriedly nodded. She followed Mr. Tim, who walked first, out of the room to what would become her room.
"Mr. Tim, that man just now... are you sure he's Mr. Keenan you were talking about earlier?" asked Valery while following Mr. Tim, who was walking ahead.
"Yes, Miss. He is Mr. Keenan. My master!" replied Mr. Tim still striding casually without looking back. He then stopped in front of a room and took out a key to open it.
"This is your room. If you need anything, you can call the servants at any time. And my advice is that once it gets dark, you should never go near Mr. Keenan's room." said Mr. Tim.
"Why?" asked Valery curiously. But Mr. Tim smiled slightly with a look that was hard to interpret. He then glanced at his leather watch, while looking back at Valery he said;
"It's nothing. it's just that when Mr. Keenann is busy working at night, he can be a bit more grumpy." Mr. Tim reminded Valery with a nod and a small smile. The intonation of his voice was soft, and his face did not have the slightest hint of anger. But somehow... Valery felt that the words just now had a little emphasis on them as if they were a threat.
"Okay!"
...
That quiet night, the wind whispered in through the curtains with the windows open. Valery was lying on her bed with her eyes closed, the silhouettes of the stars were faintly obscured by a thin mist that partially obscured their rays, accompanying the sleeping Valery as she was walking in the clouds of dreams she always visited.
"This place again!" Valery stood in front of a castle building where she first appeared in her dream. No matter how many times, she always dreamed the same dream with the same scene. Standing in front of the castle, entering then falling and meeting a man. But the strange thing was, even though she had dreamed this almost every day, every morning she always forgot the face of the man she met in the dream.
This time, Valery didn't feel confused anymore. She walked in and opened the castle door and stopped in front of Lily's floral marble floor. She wasn't going to step on it and fall roughly again. This time, the girl pressed the symbol on the marble floor with her hand, and instantly, the secret door opened to show the way in. The girl went down this time, using the stairs that she had never used before because she had fallen first.
With slow steps, she stepped towards the chest where she had fallen, earlier. Was the young man still there this time? Valery thought about it curiously, what would happen if she came without waking him up? Maybe this time she could dream longer and discover the secret behind this strange dream.
"Have you come?" before Valery could peek into the chest, a voice from behind her back made her startle and stop. The girl looked back, finding a young man in white clothes looking at her while his lips smiled slightly. His eyes looked at her as if implying a very deep longing. Even in the next few seconds, tears escaped from his two beautiful blue eyes.
"I've always waited for you... to come back to me," he said, until that moment, the white light suddenly appeared to dazzle Valery's eyes. The girl closed her eyes because she felt dazzled. When she opened her eyes again, she was now in her room with tears that she didn't know had flowed so fast that they soaked her sleeping pillow.
"What... this! Am I crying?" Valery wiped the corners of her wet eyes, not expecting that, even in a dream, she could cry this much. The girl was pensive for a moment, remembering which part of her dream had made her feel sad.
"Ugh!" Again she snorted for the umpteenth time. Her hands clenched into fists, banging her head lightly because, once again, she was unable to remember the form of the man in her dream.
"I felt a familiar feeling as if I had met that man. But who? Now I don't even remember his face." The girl thought for a long time. Even so, her memory of the man remained nil. Just then her throat suddenly felt dry. Valery touched her throat, then decided to find the kitchen to get a drink.
It was already 1:20 a.m., too late to bother the waiter. Valery decided to go to the kitchen on her own.
In this huge mansion, it was surprisingly difficult to simply find the kitchen. The girl had moved from room to room as well as around the mansion for half an hour, but the room she was looking for was still nowhere to be found.
"Gosh, I just wanted to drink a glass of water but had to walk for half an hour with no results! Where exactly is the kitchen of this mansion? Why haven't I been able to find it!"
the girl began to give up. Compared to that glass of water, her trembling legs were not worth it. Rather than going around again, she chose to return to her room immediately.
"You invited me to your house! I'm so happy." The sound of a woman's spoiled voice made Valery hurriedly retract her steps and hide. She peeked over the wall, and two people walked in from outside holding hands.
A woman in a tight red dress and a furry scarf was smiling broadly and it was obvious that she was very happy. Beside her was a man with black hair whose face Valery couldn't see staring straight ahead without looking back. What were they doing? It made the girl a little curious.
At first, she wanted to turn around and leave, but her curiosity held her back. She had no choice; rather than not being able to sleep tonight, it was better for her to go peek at what they were doing.
They walked into a room, causing Valery to furrow her brow. "This is Mr. Keenan's room!" She thought in surprise. She sneakily peeked into the room through the slightly open door. Instantly, his eyes widened, and a scream escaped his mouth.
"Aaakh!!!"
Keenan, the man was sitting on the lap of an unconscious woman. Her mouth was covered in blood, blood from the neck of the woman who had come with him earlier.
The girl fell backward as soon as Keenan looked at her, making her shocked. She hurriedly crawled and ran away, afraid that she would be the next victim after this.
"This is crazy! They're all monsters!" Valery repeatedly muttered the word while continuing to look for the exit. Until the door was not far from her, making her smile with relief. until she unconsciously bumped into something that made her fall backward.
"Mr. Tim?" He said surprised
"This time of night... where are you going, miss?"
