CHAPTER TWO: THE DAY WE MET
It's a full moon tonight. Alpha Theo and his pack set out to hunt and feel the wind in their fur. In as much as they were basking in the moonlight, they were also at alert. Theo's eyes darting at every nook and cranny of the bush looking for any slightest form of danger. Then he smelt it - he caught a unique scent that instantly sent waves throughout his body. This scent stirred up his wolf. He didn't know what it was but that scent was really doing something to him. He had to find it, so he led his pack towards the direction the scent was coming from.
They came to a cleared path leading to a river. Inside the river was a beautiful young lady having her bathe. Theo was instantly pulled, he was mesmerized by her beauty. He quickly checked around but realized that she was alone.
Ken quickly rushed forward to protect his Alpha. " who are you?" , he snarled.
The lady was obviously frightened but quickly said that she meant no harm. " I mean no harm , I'm just a traveller."
At this point Theo has to step in before things escalates.
"Stand down, can't u see that she's helpless and alone?", he said while trying to keep his wolf in check. His wolf was getting more and more unsettled , like excitedly unsettled, that was when he recognized it. She is his Luna.
" Who are you?"he demanded while still checking her out.
" My name is Ella, I'm just a traveller and mean no trouble.", she replied.
"Are u a rogue?" Theo asked, even though she is his Luna he won't hesitate to fight if she poses any threat to them.
" No" she replied. " I'm just a victim of circumstance". As she said this a hint of sadness flashed through her eyes but she quickly masked it.
Theo's wolf gnarled from within, then he knew she was telling the truth. She wasn't lying but didn't seem to want to talk about it much. He couldn't possibly leave her here in the cold and darkness, so he asked" Where are you going?"
Ella obviously was intimidated by his presence but for some strange reasons, she didn't feel fear, she felt she could trust him. " Anywhere my legs carry me", she replied with her eyes looking blank.
Theo's wolf growled again, getting this urge to hold her, to kiss her, to protect her, to possess her, but he just clenched his fists suppressing all urge. He knew she was his mate, his Luna but there was no way he would just reveal it. After all, he doesn't know her or know if she can be trusted.
" Do you know that you are on the Red Moon pack territory?", his Beta, ken asked still looking at her suspiciously.
" oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know,.I apologize and I'll leave right away" Ella responded.
Theo knew he could not let her go so Esther thsn sounding desperate for her to stay, he decided to act cold. " No, do you think I'll let you go just like that?, what if you are a spy sent to uncover secret in our territory."
" I'm not s spy, I'm just a person passing by. If I had known this place belonged to a pack I wouldn't have stayed here."
" You seem to be alone, where are your pack members?", Theo questioned.
Immediately that question came out, there was a dead ass silence. Ella's expression changed.
" It's none of your business, if you don't mind I'll love to be on my way now" she replied coldly.
Theo was defiant. "If you want to leave here in one piece you would start talking " he snarled
" My pack was brutally murdered and wiped out by another pack " , Ella responded with tears in her eyes. "Ever since , I've been wandering the face of the earth with no particular direction in mind."
Hearing this, the incident of that night immediately flashed through Theo's mind. Theo couldn't believe it. The chances of the pack that he killed was hers is very slim. What could be the odds?, but there's still every possibility. He quickly dismissed the thought from his head
"I'm so sorry about your pack", he said
"Thank you, can I go now?", she replied already packing her things.
His wolf didn't want her to go. He wanted to keep her close, to protect her , to feel her warmth. But Theo was still cautious. He couldn't afford to act rashly considering how things are currently.
" you can stay with us. It's not safe for you to be walking all by your self. Not everyone is as nice as we are", Theo said
Ella wanted to disagree but she couldn't, she felt drawn to Theo then she said " fine, I'll stay but just for one night. I'll be on my way by first light tomorrow morning."
Theo immediately signaled Ken to take her belongings and bring her with them but at the same time keep a very watchful eye on her.
Back at the pack house, Theo couldn't seem to shake off the feeling of longing he felt immediately he saw her. He knew Ella was his mate, he's Luna. He couldn't help but think about Ella's pack. What if it was her Pack he was deceived into killing. If it was her pack, everything would go wrong. He fell to his seat:
"Has my past really come seeking revenge?"
