The Borderlands (II)

Back at the Jacaranda mechers side an uphill battle was being fought with both sides giving it their all .

On closer observation it could be seen that despite being outnumbered they were able to even out the number advantage the other team possessed ,their elite and systematic training made them formidable even in the face of a complete team , they'd been going at it for more than half an hour now !

However they were also beginning to feel the burden ,though it was a game this kind of high intensity and drawn out fight was extremely taxing on their consciousness , don't be mistaken duels lasting for one or more hours were pretty normal but that was either in the battle arena where physical fights occured or in other less dangerous maps .

The Borderlands were an exception , while most mech battles on other maps were typically long ,the Borderlands special environment called fo quick battles .

Right at this moment Immolator yelled into the teams private communication channel.

" You guy's will have to go on without me , my Trechan is almost out of juice .

While Immolator's Trechan was very , very powerful being a draconic beast type mech , the rate at which it also consumed fuel was jaw dropping courtesy of it's blazing Area of Effects (AOE) attacks.

The machine literally guzzled fuel like it was drinking water .

Furthermore , the concentrated attacks it received from their opponents due to it's high destructive power made it lose energy even faster as energy shields were energy gobblers in the first place thus Trechan being the first mech to fall due the damages it accrued was already written in stone .

The raw destructive power of Immolator's Trechan made it extremely suitable to dish out large scale damage and destruction on the battlefield ,however, this same quality also made every beast type mechs and any other mech archetype with AOE abilities a victim of concentrated attack on the battlefield each time .

It was common logic ; if I can destroy your most powerful large scale damage causer , a lot of more delicate mechs can be left functioning right ? ,so why wouldn't I ?

" You and your Trechan have tried hard ,thanks a lot for your efforts, we are really gonnaake it count ."

" That's why you're the captain but I am not done yet,I have one last gift for these buggers ."

" What do you mea...?"

Not giving Starfire any chance to complete her sentence Immolator drove the Trechan headfirst towards two injured mechs standing away at one side of the valley walls due to their damaged parts , hurling his mech's bulk at them he pinned their frames against the wall giving them a half bear hug .

Laughing without restraint he said ; " Leaving this game without bring along some of you haha in your dreams , captain am counting on you to win this match ."

The next moment the loud warnings blaring from their proximity sensors alerting them of an unstable energy source made them understand what was going on ,

he was detonating his mech's power core reactor !

Now you might be wondering that didn't he lose his fighting ability due to a loss of power ?

Yes , that is true, but then you have to understand that mech's were equipped with power core reactors which were essentially mini cold nuclear reactors , and with a mech in the caliber of the Trechan, possessing a powerful reactor was given.

Thus overriding the safety protocols of his mech he was able to destabilize the nuclear reactor thus causing an uncontrollable fusion reaction, he essentially turned his mech into a mini nuclear bomb ! He was gonna go off with a BANG !

Panicking , the two enemy mech's unfortunately caught in his bear hug struggled to escape from him , but could they ? They were goners already !

At one moment the energy readings all the remaining mech pilots were seeing was at a zenith, turning the Trechan's head to look at Starfire and Tyrant ripper , Immolator said ; I'll be waiting for your victory."

" We Jacarandans never give up "

And the next moment there was a world rendering explosion .

BOOM!!!!!

It only lasted for about five seconds but the devastation these few seconds caused was mind bending , even the Borderlands energy anomalies could not suppress the full power of the core reactor detonating ,it even setoff a small energy storm .

After the explosion died out ,they were finally able to see the result of the explosion and it was a literal jaw dropper , there was practically nothing to show that there were three mech right by the wall just ten seconds ago even the walls of the valley were not spared as there was a huge hole blown out of the rocks .

The force of the Trechan detonating it's power core reactor was truly overwhelming as it literally erased the three mech out of existence , had it been in the real world it would have been even more devastating !

With a furious countenance Tyrant ripper swivelled his Hercules while roaring ; "You b*stars am going to rip you to shreds ! I will show you why the Jacaranda mechers are called real warriors . "

" Tyr.... wait up a minute ."

Trying to stop Tyrant ripper from recklessly charging forward Starfire called out to him but then on second thought she stopped.

Musing to herself she said ; " The honour of we Jacarandan mechers has been trampled upon how can a ragtag group of casual players even defeat us ,this is a stain on our honour which we must clean stopping him now will only affect him I can only provide him with fire support it would have been nice if those two guy's where here but they've most probably been evicted from the game , guess we are on our own ."

Tossing all these thoughts towards the back of her mind she rushed forward to join the Hercules in battle .

About two miles away from the windy ,sand ravaged valley two humanoid mechs could be seen running towards the valley.

These two mechs were precisely the Grausers piloted by Dongfan Yue and Pang Pengyou surprisingly they survived the ordeal with the aboriginals killing them all although their mech's suffered extensive damage they managed to survive miraculously .

Though this was a game , the level of immersiveness could fool one into believing that everything ,pain , death and all was real .

Never in their wildest dreams could they have believed that they could survive those aboriginals.

About five minutes ago the heard a loud explosion coming from the Northwest direction. The might of the explosion was stunning as they were able to feel the ground vibrating even from that far away .

Knowing that there must definitely be a battle ungoing there they headed there as they would probably find the other members of their team .

Soon they arrived at the entrance of the valley and the first thing that entered their sight was the Hercules dissipating after it's reactor shut down thus exiting the game .

Immediately they arrived the private communication channel came back online .

" Trampler of stars , Tech junkie it's great that you are still in the game , we need to cooperate together to deal with these guys ."

The three remaining mechs of the other team were initially wary but upon seeing that it was just two damaged mech's , Grausers at that they resumed their charge . If they could possibly win this match they could boast about beating an elite mech team for months .

They would not possibly assume that just these two me hs could change the outcome of this battle.

But boy were they wrong .

"Starfire no need for that we can handle this ." was the only reply she received, the next moment Dongfan Yue and Pang Pengyou also charged towards the three incoming mechs .

Feeling smug that these two guys were just serving themselves up on a platter they suddenly felt a force binding them down while bringing them closer to each other .

Unable to move they could only watch as Pang Pengyou's mech jumped high then came crashing with it's feet aligned right smack in their center , vaguely they could make out a faint phantom of a gigantic nine storied pagoda crashing towards them and then.... there was no then as they were crushed into scrap metal !

All three of them , Starfire was already shocked dumb as what she saw she couldn't comprehend.

She was just about to ask them that what did the do when the game system announced them as the victors.

Transporting their consciousness back to reality ,the first thing Dongfan Yue and Pang Pengyou did upon removing theVR head set was to look at each other with an expression of shock while saying ; " THAT WAS. AWESOME !!!"
