Ruby stepped in from the bathroom, wearing only his oversized t-shirt. She crossed her arms. "That's not an answer." Jack sat down, rubbing his face. "Some guys tried to jump me."
Lena's eyes darkened. "Who?" Jack shook his head. "Didn't say. But they knew who I was." Ruby sat beside him, touching his shoulder gently. He winced. Lena exhaled sharply. "Dammit, Jack."
Jack smirked. "What? I won." Lena threw a pillow at his head. "That's not the point, you dumbass!" Jack caught the pillow, laughing. Ruby, however, wasn't laughing. "This isn't funny, Jack. If they knew who you were, they'll try again." Jack sighed. "I know."
Lena paced. "Fuck. This has Syndicate written all over it." Jack leaned back. "Maybe. But I don't think this was their style. Felt more like a test." Ruby frowned. "A test for what?" Jack shrugged. "That's what worries me." Lena ran a hand through her hair. "We need to be careful."
