"Ready?" Victor barked.
Jack nodded. The bell rang.
Damon shot across the cage like a damn freight train. Jack sprawled hard, his hips slamming down just as Damon's arms reached for his legs. They hit the mat in a scramble, but Jack stayed balanced, fighting off the takedown. He circled out and threw a sharp uppercut that clipped Damon's chin.
"Hell yeah, Jack!" Ruby cheered from outside the cage.
Damon came back, this time pushing Jack against the fence, grinding his forehead into Jack's chest while working for the single leg. Jack's muscles burned, but he stayed patient, using his underhooks and footwork to spin off the cage and break free.
"Where's that pressure?" Jack taunted, stepping forward with a clean one-two combo.
Damon grinned, wiping blood from his lip. "You're gonna regret that."
But Jack didn't. By the third round, he was stuffing every takedown, landing clean shots, and keeping the fight where he wanted it — on the feet.
