Chapter 312: The Right Way to Use Artificial Intelligence

Skye frantically grabbed a cup of tea and poured it into her backpack to put out the fire. With a sizzling sound, the air was left with only the acrid smell of burnt electronics. She looked utterly bewildered, while Fitz and Simmons beside her were equally shocked. Although the laptop was old, it had been with Skye for a long time.

Suddenly, she discovered the culprit and directed the fiercest glare of her life at the sorcerer sitting nearby, who wore a look of disdain. Agent Coulson let out a heavy sigh—Skye had just gone through a trust crisis not long ago. She had secretly contacted her ex-boyfriend from the Rising Tide organization, only to be caught red-handed by Agent Melinda May. And now, she was digging into the list again. This new recruit was nothing but trouble. Agent May shot her another glare, but this time, Skye didn't back down. Instead, she lifted her chin like a foolish swan, puffing out her chest as if ready to pounce and bite Solomon at any moment.

In her heart, Agent May increased the intensity of the physical training Skye was about to undergo. She was going to make this foolish rookie cry.

"This matter…"

"It's fine," Solomon said, not acting like a victim at all. "I'll buy her a new laptop later."

Skye wanted to retort but found herself unable to form any words. She was both angry and frustrated, her light brown skin flushing red, especially when she saw Solomon's smug expression. She wrinkled her nose in irritation, looking like a puffed-up pufferfish about to explode.

However, she had learned a lesson from her last mission and didn't directly confront Agent May. Of course, part of the reason was also because she felt somewhat ashamed of her ex-boyfriend's actions.

"Reckless people don't survive long in the world of magic, Coulson," Solomon's voice was low, only audible to those sitting next to him. "I hope you'll notify me when you encounter magical incidents instead of acting on your own. You don't have the ability to handle those things. Nick Fury has already understood this, and I hope you will too."

"This is strange, Solomon," Agent Coulson said. "You don't usually talk this much to me."

"Because you're going to save the world in the future."

Thanks to Master Wang's appetite, he was still working on his second Chenpi Duck even after Coulson's team had left.

"Is this also something you saw through the Eye of Agamotto?" Master Wang asked, patting his stomach with a satisfied expression. He had waited until Coulson's team left before asking, not wanting them to know more.

Not many in Kamar-Taj could use the Eye of Agamotto, and to Master Wang, it wasn't surprising that Solomon could use it. What was surprising was that he claimed a few ordinary people could save the world. That was what truly shocked him.

Solomon gave an affirmative answer. "Not all crises that threaten human civilization are related to magic," he said. "The current stockpile of nuclear bombs could cover the entire Earth several times over. It's too easy for mortals to destroy themselves. Who knows what kind of mess they'll create to wipe themselves out again? Agent Coulson and his team are quite skilled at handling crises caused by ordinary people. It's worth trusting them and giving them some help."

"You're becoming as mysterious as the Ancient One now," Master Wang said, wiping his mouth with a napkin. "What's your next move? And what about that person who hacked your phone? I can tell it's brand new."

"What else? I'm going to pick up my girlfriend from work! Let's go, have the shop pack another portion. I'm going to deliver some food," Solomon said. "As for the other guy, I've already ordered something good from Stark. If it wants to cooperate with me, it'll have to meet my conditions."

Solomon's phone vibrated again.

Agreed… 3D model rendering in progress…

"See? This is the right way to use artificial intelligence!" the sorcerer said triumphantly.

Since the anomalies with the angels couldn't be investigated for the time being, after Solomon's pleading, the Ancient One finally agreed to give Bayonetta and Jeanne a long vacation to let them rest. Jeanne had been looking forward to this day for a while. She had just received her paycheck from Kamar-Taj, and now she could go on a shopping spree with Bayonetta. The salary from her elementary school teaching job wasn't enough for her to splurge, and she hated that all household expenses were covered by Solomon. It made her extremely uncomfortable.

So uncomfortable that she wanted to smash Solomon's head in.

Bayonetta was fully aware of Jeanne's little grievances. Every night when they went to bed, Jeanne would hug her and complain. But Bayonetta didn't point out the real reason for Jeanne's dissatisfaction because she knew it would turn her best friend into an angry hermit crab, ready to pinch Solomon the moment he showed up and not let go until he cried out in pain.

Just thinking about this comical scene made Bayonetta burst into laughter.

Regardless, it was good to enjoy some family atmosphere for a while. It seemed these angels would keep descending into the etheric plane, and Kamar-Taj would leave all the work to them. Household income wasn't a concern, and Bayonetta didn't like the idea of Solomon covering all the expenses either, because she was the head of the household.

The good stuff ordered from Stark finally arrived. It was Stark Industries' most advanced holographic projection device, the size of a table. Solomon had to summon four of his constructs stored in the Immortal City to move the thing into the apartment—which earned him a round of curses from Jeanne, who hated the damage the heavy device inflicted on the apartment floor and the electricity bill.

When this thing was turned on, the electricity meter probably spun backward.

Solomon placed his phone on the holographic projection device and activated all its functions. As layers of colored blocks rapidly shifted, a somewhat blurry figure composed of blue dots appeared on the device. The figure was no taller than an arm's length and moved somewhat jerkily. Solomon felt like it was testing its motor skills, its tiny arms and legs stretching out in all directions. As the progress bar slowly filled, the projection became clearer, and the voice from the speakers went from stuttering to smooth.

Finally, a thumb-sized girl with an expressionless face floated above the table, her dress gradually gaining bright colors and eyes. Then, the figure blurred again, and the thumb-sized girl's face took on human-like expressions—something she had learned through the camera, a new algorithm for simulating emotions she had developed after gaining freedom. She reached out her tiny hand, trying to touch Solomon, and the sorcerer extended his finger, making contact with the虚幻的投影.

After complex calculations, a volumetric collision occurred between the虚幻 and the real.

"What can I do for you, Sir?" she said.

"Save the world."
