What she let out was not her own voice, but Aria’s.
Jake heard the voice and desperately opened his eyelids. He still couldn’t see clearing, only a woman in red standing next by him.
“A-Aria? H-Honey?” He wrinkled his brow and uttered uncertainly.
A flash of jealousy flashed in Jamila’s eyes, but she still responded gently, “It’s me.”
“W-Why are you here?” Jake’s body moved as if he wanted to get up.
Jamila pushed him back, “Don’t move, you don’t have the strength now, just lie down.”
Jake smelled the familiar scent of perfume, and although he still wondered how Aria had suddenly returned, he was able to determine that it was her so he lied still.
“I just got back and I’m so tired. Can you lie in bed with me?” Jamila leaned down and lay on his chest.
Jake agreed and closed his eyes again.
Jamila curled her lips into a smile before slipping her hand into his suit.
Jake sensed it, and though his brow furrowed, he didn’t stop it.
