Jake put down his phone and continued to work on the documents he hadn’t finished on the plane earlier.

He pushed open the door of the ward and entered, Mara hadn’t woken up yet, and her daughter-in-law was taking care of her at the hospital bedside.

When she saw Jake, Mara’s daughter-in-law hurriedly got up, “Mr. Thomson.”

“Mother had been having back pain last night so the doctor gave a pain shot in the morning before she fell asleep and she is probably waking up soon.” replied by the daughter-in-law, looking at the old lady in the hospital bed.

Jake pursed his lips, “I’m sorry for letting Mara out like this.”

“No, no, no, it has nothing to do with you, sir, and as my mother-in-law said, it’s the fault of those heartless people, so Mr. Thomson, you must not blame yourself.” The daughter-in-law waved her hand.
