“I know, I’ll take stock of it.” Miguel said with a solemn face.
Jake didn’t say anything anymore, and seeing Miguel pull out a pack of cigarettes, he asked for one and lit it too, smoking in silence.
He hadn’t smoked for a long time, not since Aria was pregnant with their baby.
But this time, Mara almost had an accident, leaving him in a very irritable mood.
Miguel lit a cigarette as well and stood next to him, smoking with him.
A few moments later, after the cigarette was finished, Miguel’s cell phone rang. He took out and looked at it, “Jake, the hospital recently received a critical patient and they called over for a meeting to discuss how to operate it, so I’ll go ahead.”
He nodded slightly and gave a nod.
Miguel dropped his cigarette and lifted his feet to leave.
Jake stayed where he was for a while longer, suddenly, he heard a movement in the ward, and he realized that Mara might be awake, so he opened the door to enter.
“Mr. Thomson.” Mara called out to him weakly.
