Jake wondered if Miguel was lying to him.
But if Miguel did lie to him, he wouldn’t care anymore about his life. Someone who was full of love and didn’t care about anything else didn’t deserve his concern.
Miguel left the Thomson Group and drove all the way to the third hospital.
Presumably, the third hospital had received Jake’s orders, and as soon as Miguel arrived, someone took him directly to the morgue.
He once again saw Jamila’s corpse, which had been frozen for days, which was green and white and very frightening to look at.
But Miguel wasn’t frightened; as a doctor, he’d seen too many corpses, and he’d seen worse and scarier ones, so he didn’t feel the slightest bit of fear at the sight of it.
Even if he wasn’t a doctor, he wouldn’t feel scared when he saw Jamila’s corpse, because she was the one he had loved.
