"Pull yourself together?"
Serena's voice trailed off, her eyes scarlet, "Will Matthew come back if I pull myself together? Whatever Lorraine's intentions are, I'm going to make her pay for all of this."
Blair's body shuddered, taken aback by the look in her eyes.
But at the same time he felt relieved, this was the Serena he knew, "Get well, I've informed Judy and Scarlett, let them keep you company in the meantime."
Speaking of Judy, his tone was softer and vaguely exasperated.
Judy left that night without a second thought, he had thought that the other party had left Hustleburg for good, but he didn't realize that she had applied for a job as a college teacher and had resumed her teaching career.
As long as she was still in Hustleburg, at least his heart wasn't so empty.
Serena glanced down at her wrist and leaned back against the bed to close her eyes.
Her mind still hurt, and mind control, as distinct from physical pain, could make a person completely lose themselves.
