Chapter 436

Serena patted his back and didn't say anything.

She knew how hard it must have been for him, he had been looking forward to it for so long, even quietly naming the baby on paper.

The wastepaper basket in the study was full of names he'd thrown away, none of which he was very happy with.

He'd been so careful, so full of anticipation, and this was what he'd ended up with.

The inside of her neck was moist and cold.

"Matthew, it's okay."

She reassured him, her heart as hard as pins and needles.

Matthew replied hoarsely, muffled, "Well, it's okay, the baby will come back, it will come back."

The two lay on the bed, holding each other.

Matthew was about to turn off the lights in his room when his cell phone rang frantically, it was Tara calling.

"Your grandmother is in resuscitation and the doctor says it's critical."

Tara rubbed her brow and sighed, "Forget it, you better not come, stay home with Serena, after all we are the ones who have wronged her."
