Exercise 1: Energy Reading through Touch
In this foundational exercise, you will learn to tune into the energy of an object through focused touch. This will help you build sensitivity to the subtle impressions that objects carry.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Choose a Meaningful Object: Find an object that has some emotional significance or history (such as a piece of jewelry, an old book, or a photograph). Ideally, choose something that you know little about but that belongs to someone else.
Create a Calm Environment: Sit comfortably in a quiet space, holding the object gently in your hands. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths to center yourself.
Tune into the Object's Energy: As you breathe, imagine the object's energy slowly flowing into your hands. Don't force any impressions—just let yourself relax and be open to whatever comes. Feel the weight, texture, and temperature of the object, and then let your mind go deeper, beyond its physical characteristics.
Receive Impressions: After a few minutes, pay attention to any mental images, emotions, or sensations that arise.
Does the object feel warm or cold emotionally?
Do you see any images or flashes in your mind?
Does it evoke any particular emotions or memories?
Journal the Experience: Once you finish the exercise, write down any impressions you received. Even if they seem random or unclear at first, over time, these impressions will start to make sense. Later, you can ask the object's owner about its history to confirm any of the feelings or images you received.
