A drop of rain fell on a sunflower

By: Amoureax Amant

A drop of rain fell on a sunflower,

like dew hung at petal with aroma,

slipping down from petal on grass of lawn,

and then raindrop vanished like mist of dawn.

A drop of rain fell in autumn water,

merging into the lake, diving under,

as though raindrop barged in green lake like stone,

as though raindrop wedged in green lake deep down.

A drop of rain jumped from cloud veiled in sky,

riding on whistling wind with rustle sigh,

through plain where grass yellowed as topaz sand,

toward farmland where grain rooted dry land.

A drop of rain wedged in the crack of mud,

softening the soil where sprang up new bud.
