A New World

"What is... happening"

Belluk thought, his mind struggling to come to grasp the scene in front of him, he couldn't believe it, he didn't want to.

There were inconceivably dark figures swiftly massacring his band of bandits. Some were fighting back in desperation, gnashing like near-death beast's at a hunter. That meaningless and futile struggle, to ultimately fail as those black monsters tore through them in halves.

Some were fortunate enough to receive a quick, painful end by those dark blades, slicing into them like butchers, while some suffered through their end, either by blood loss or by the injuries they faced as they clobbered them through the floors or walls, strong enough to even leave replicated craters on their surfaces.

There were only black flashes as far as he could perceive, they moved so fast that it seemed to him they were only flickers moving all around, black streaks running in a rampant spree.

He watched in horror, as the bloodshed finally ended, it was distressingly fast, all of them now lying in pools of their own blood, some horribly mutilated and undistinguishable to once be called a human.

He could even see Pircle, lying their headless and limbless, his entrails spread like pink roots on the ground that floated in pools of blood.

He looked to the child, seeing his powerful gaze at him with a killer aura, and his once stoic and unmoving expression, now devolved into a pathetic look that was devoid of discipline, as he wept in fear.

Belluk went a step back, his balance failing him as his legs gave out beneath him, shacking wildly as he landed on his behind in fear. The black shadows, to his horror, were moving steadily to him like terrible prowling predators, their swords trailing behind them intending to finish the remaining prey that laid before them.

He launched spells at them to hopefully imped their strides, but none of them seemed to work, only serving as an annoyance as the attacks phased through their corporeal bodies.

"Icicle Shot." "Acid Javelin." "Toll the Dead"

Even his most powerful of attacks, nothing seemed to even leave a scratch or even connect on their mighty, black armor.

The flesh golem that guarded the doors quickly went to the aid of Belluk, seeing its master threatened, it readied its large hand to strike at one of the shadows when it ran.

The golem was much larger than the knights, and Belluk thought that maybe it could take them down, Oh, please!! Destroy them!!, he hoped in his mind, but shockingly - to his dismay - 3 more shadows took to defending, their black swords holding the arm up, puncturing three points in. They had multiplied, there were now 5 in total.

They desecrated the golem, ending that falsity of life quickly as all of them tore into it, and only a pile of knitted flesh was left.

Fear crept to Belluk, more than ever now because they were more of them, it sent shivers down his spine, and he broke in a sweat.

They surrounded him in a perfect arch formation with him at the middle, and knelt with their blades plunged on the ground for the one approaching in front, the child approaching him and within each step was spelling his sentence, and he knew it was the end.

Belluk fainted.

Walking with a steady pace, the boy went to the fainted man, and raised his hand. He gave an order to a knight, commanding it to point his sword to drive it into him, but was suddenly stopped, as the familiar twinkle of light illuminated his face, distracting him from completing the order.

"WHAT!!? How are you..."

He was shocked, his expression with surprise and astonishment. The light, he was certain of it, was the same one that was in his cell was directly at his front, and it was shacking wildly.

"What are you doing!? Hey!"

The light didn't answer, except for a rapid buzz coming out as it moved speedily all around him, like it was desperately panicking as it jittered irregularly between him and Belluk.

"Why are you moving in that weird motion?"

The light sporadically moved to Belluk, circling his head, moving up and down in very swift movements, its body communicating in a bizarre game of charades, signaling to him something.

"What is it about him?"

The light hurriedly move to the chest of Belluk and made a twirling motion. He shuffled around his thick robes, feeling its surface of the thing the light directed too, and feeling something like cold steel on his hand, he pulled on it, yanking it hard and removing it from Belluk's neck, and pulled a bright red and gilded silver orb-like object.

It was small, sized similar to the light and glowed a bright crimson. It was attached to a necklace but he decided to just take it off, leaving only the marble on his palm.

"This?" He said affirmingly.

The light happily danced around in agreement.

Just then the head he held rustled, he turned his head to the light that was on Belluk, and saw that he was slowly opening his eyes, wherein the light hid behind him like a scared sprite.

###

Belluk, opened his eyes slowly, his eyes struggling to see what was in front of him, a black visage lay directly overhead of his sights, a terrible darkness that enveloped his forefront, and it moved closer.

"Are you wake?" The black thing said, though that was what he managed to hear.

He focused his eyes more, and was met with at horrible sight he did not want to see, the terrible being that commanded black abominations laid across him and it looked at him with a savage and still glare.

"Oh, you are awake."

Belluk hurriedly went to talk.

"PLEASE! PLEASE! SPARE ME!" Belluk said, voice with desperation looking at the child, that black skull face staring directly at him, the hollow sockets that served as his eyes glaring directly to his own, and it frightened him even more upon staring at that cavern of black.

But to Adaceus, this incessant rambling was just mindless babble, and was completely unintelligible for him.

What is this guy saying? He wondered, and he turned to the light in instinct. It fluttered suddenly, and a flash of light blinded his vision and left him stunned. He repositioned himself, shaking away the blurriness that resulted in the flash. his hand that held the man suddenly began shaking, and he sensed the man trembling.

Once his vision cleared, he looked at him and his terrified expression-truly pathetic.

"PLEASE! PLEASE!" He screamed, and Adaceus was surprised, he was actually able to understand him now. He then turned to the light, and tensed his eyes at it, but distrust to the light was not important right now, and he returned his sights to the man.

"Who are you?" the boy said.

"Wh- What?" the man replied shuddering.

"Who are you?" he said again.

"Why..?"

Belluk was confused, why would he need to know who he was? Doesn't he know who he stole from?

"I say again, who are you? Do not make me repeat myself."

That threatening voice woke Belluk up from his stupefaction, and hurriedly went to answer.

"M-my name is Belluk, Belluk Olhad! Your magnificence!" he said, and he bowed his head and drove it deep on the floor.

"I am sincerely apologize for my dire mistake, and I will promise to correct these if you promise to spare me, please!"

The child did not answer, instead simply speaking another question.

"What are you?"

"What do you mean, sir?"

"I sense a repugnant arcane presence in your mana, nothing that I am familiar with, what sorts of magics are resonating within your body? Tell me your practice."

"O-ohh! im terribly sorry milord! I-I am a but simple necromancer! My lord! No one of importance!"

 "I see."

One of the knights suddenly punched Belluk in his face, the force strong enough to launch teeth out and leave him bleeding from his mouth.

The child followed by clutching the collar of his robe tightly, and pulling him close to his face.

"I really do want to end your life hear and now, but this damn light seems to hold you with value, so you better do as I say."

A punch was sent again, this time a different knight brought it down, in the opposite direction.

"You are going to tell me everything you know, every single minute and inconsequential detail with none left out."

Another punch was sent.

"And you are going to answer all of my questions, all of them without failure, and you are going to give answers fast and without a hint of defiance, or another punch is going to be the least of your concern."

"And then I am going to kill you."

And Belluk fainted, once again.
