Learning

After coming back to the house, immediately Adaceus was bombarded by Hainan, with an assault of books accompanying him and specifically contained the appropriate knowledge he needed. He was ecstatic all the while and tried to get Adaceus to follow him for an impromptu study session, eager to teach him. Ingridt shot down the attempts and tried to calm him down, saying to him that he needed rest and recuperate after the fight.

Hainan fervently fought back, but a slap on the head made him think otherwise, and reluctantly he changed his mind. Adaceus had a good chuckle at this, and gave the suggestion that he could study on his own, and just needed the books to take to his room. Hainan, although disappointed, accepted the idea and handed him all the books he could muster, with the promise that he should have further classes when he is properly rested.

So Adaceus went on his way, opening the door to his room with a stack of books in hand, struggling to turn the knob. He entered and placed the bundle of books on the desk, staring at them with sparkling eyes. Here, in front of him was a whole new world of knowledge, and he was greatly excited to begin, elated at the thought of new understandings of this world. He sat himself on the chair and picked up one of the books, and analyzing the covers.

He chose one that read:

"Core Basics 101"

He opened it and began reading the newly obtained books.

The first couple of pages pertained to something called the core, and its structures. The core, as it is commonly known as, is a compact mass of energy that is innate in each and every living being alive.

It first forms in the early development of a young child, first developing as a little light of blue smoke, but after the individual continues to mature it eventually reaches a maximum point of growth. The max size it could potentially reach varies from each individual to another, and involves a manner of factors that go into it that contribute to its growth.

It is placed near the center of ones body and is circular in its shape, and is completely made of and energy called mana that is constantly undulating wild energy. It circulates mana throughout the entire body via muscles, veins, natural circulation and even induced circulation, that enables a variety of things to happen or occur.

Firstly, all manner of individuals use the mana in combat situation's, being able to utilize it in a process called Mana fusion, and was a sort of synthetization that separates into two different strands. Aura and Essence.

In order to produce the both of these, an individual must specifically calibrate his/her core to that specific path that they choose. All individual's have a sort of affinity to one of the two depending on the core of that they possess, either they have a core that resonates more with aura, or essence, being able to discern what that is based on the circulation of the man on their body.

An Aura user circulates mana throughout their muscles, veins or anything of the flesh. They do this by synthesizing the mana from the core into said aura, by a process of deep concentration that forms the mana into a tangible energy (Aura) that presides into a passive state in the body, fit for the aura user to utilize. It can be used in all manner of ways, offensive or defensive otherwise, making it a very versatile adaptable energy in battle.

It is mainly used by melee fighters that are most seen battling in close range, which make the use of aura very important to them for its versatility, being able to conjure defensive moves or empowerment of their weapons or movement abilities to close in the distance.

Adaceus took a pause in reading, and thought to the events that happened earlier, specifically to the spar of Rinita and Ingridt, and realized that they must have been users of this thing called aura, masterful ones at that. After that interesting revelation, he continued reading.

Meanwhile an essence user circulates mana directly from the core to the outside of the body, synthesizing it in a more complicated way in the form of magic circles where spells are able to be conjured on. An essence user basically manipulates the erupting of the mana core into short burst's of energy, letting it out into a singular point outside of the body in the form of a bright circle of light that can appear wherever they choose to summon it. This circles allow the essence user to cast all manner of spells on, and although less versatile than aura for its time consuming process, they have the advantage of having more firepower built into it.

While this are some of the common things the mana cores used for, there other more unique variants. For instance, the user of both paths often train in the supportive areas of combat, such as for essence users that specifically utilize in the more assissting aspects, being able to enchant defenses to the people they choose and can even heal using recovery spells, where as a user of aura can strengthen themselves with layers of defensive augments to tank incoming attacks like shield walls.

This was basically all the book contained, save for all the excerpts and the personal research, this was the basic rundown of it all in which Adaceus intently read and learned.

Interesting, is what Adaceus thought as he closed the book and placed it down, going into deep thought after.

The thing's of this worlds systems truly differed from the ones he knew off, the cores mentioned especially were a new concept had never seen before.

In a moment, he decided to do something.

He raised his hand toward him, staring at it before placing it at down at his stomach. He then closed his eyes, going into intense focus like a meditative trance. He wanted to try this meditating thing the book taught, and it basically allows one to peer through themselves to physically see the core they have, and he decided to try it out

He searched within himself across the large valley of black, charting through the dark waters, until eventually, after a few moments, found the core. Like the book said, it was there, glowing with an intense light of the mana that swirled around in a ball of energy, but strangely, another one like itself glowed, just right above it.

This, it looked like, was a dual core, the thing that made a ruckus before. In his understanding, he didn't have this before, which made sense, being that it belonged to the body of the boy he was inhabiting.

Questions spurred in him, particularly one that left him at a loss on what to think.

How was I sent here, he thought, slouching deeper in his chair.

He hadn't thought about it until now, but how was he sent here exactly? How is it that he was sent here and is now possessing this sort of body?

He asked the thin air, but it didn't give him anything, no solution present could answer this heavy question that laid in him, and he could only stare at the the ceiling despondent.

Suddenly he felt a slight tug at his arm. Looking toward it, he saw a little girl with bright yellow hair pinching at his sleeve, it was Agie, staring at him with those wide orange eyes.

She kept tugging and tugging, and Adaceus asked, hoarse and rough, "What is it?"

She had something tucked in her other arm, and she took it out and showed it to him with both of her hands straightened out. It was a little doll, built to look like some sort of animal with big ears and small eyes and brown fur. She hopped up and down in eagerness, showing him with wide eyes and puffed up cheeks the doll, nudging it closer and closer to his face.

Adaceus, strangely felt soothed at the prying girl, and a chuckle escaped his mouth. He rubbed the girls head gently, and she placed her cheek deeper into his palm, seeming to enjoy the rubs. Adaceus looked up to the afternoon sun, and let out all the melancholy that rose from him.

The answers were there, out in the vast expanse, and he just had to go look. And with an opportunity to mentor under a very powerful person, he felt he would go search for it soon enough.
