The Immortal Nightmare [4]

The captain and the rest of the party entered the large room, which was rectangular and extended greatly, glowing with golden and blue hues.

The walls were adorned with intricately carved stone statues, depicting ancient warriors and heroes. The floor was covered with marble tiles that sparkled beneath their feet, reflecting the light emanating from the giant crystal chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling.

The ceiling itself was intricately designed, studded with golden engravings depicting ancient tales and legendary battles between good and evil.

Among the massive stone columns on either side, artistic paintings occasionally depicted epic battles and kings sitting upon their thrones.

As the party began to advance, their eyes were drawn to a radiant blue light emanating from the center of the room.

The light was vibrant, echoing throughout the space as if it carried mysterious secrets accessible only to those who passed through challenges.

"Look at that massive stone column!" said one of the party members, pointing to the source of the blue light. "Could this be the place where the treasures are hidden?"

The column was enormous, rising majestically from the marble floor to the high ceiling, wrapped in a thick layer of black stones. At its center, the blue light emanated from a giant gem embedded in a deep recess.

Mr. Joe approached the column and began to touch it cautiously, but he felt something unusual. "This is not just an ordinary stone... It pulses with life, as if it carries hidden energy."

The rest of the party looked around in astonishment, trying to grasp the beauty and grandeur of the place, but the captain was focused on the objective.

He said in a low voice, "We did not come here to enjoy the scenery. We must discover what lies beyond this column and what treasures and artifacts it may conceal."

After a quick inspection of the room, they noticed that the massive stone column was surrounded by carefully carved drawings and ancient letters.

"These letters seem to be part of an ancient ritual... We should be cautious in what we do here."

With steady but cautious steps, the captain approached the blue gem.

The atmosphere was charged with tension and anticipation as if the place itself were breathing and waiting for a crucial moment. And when the captain placed his hand on the gem, the ground beneath him trembled slightly, and the surrounding walls began to glow in different colors, as if reacting to his touch.

Clink-!

"You've done something, captain!" shouted one of the party members from behind, as the stone columns began to emit a low humming sound.

The gem started to glow stronger, and strange sounds began to emanate from the depths of the room as if something had just been awakened from a deep slumber.

"Get ready! We don't know what awaits us!" the captain said firmly, preparing for anything that might happen.

As soon as he finished speaking, the blue light exploded from the gem, illuminating the entire room, and causing everyone to close their eyes from the intensity.

When the blue light gradually faded, the group reopened their eyes to discover that the room had changed dramatically.

The walls that had once displayed engravings and ancient legends had transformed into transparent panels revealing landscapes they had never seen before.

Those panels pulsed with life, showcasing scenes of towering mountains, sprawling green valleys, and rapidly flowing rivers.

It felt as though they had been transported to another world, a place where myths converged with reality.

Amidst these transformations, the stone column remained in place, but the blue gem no longer sparkled; instead, it split in half, each half revealing an ancient symbol.

Mr. Joe approached to take a look at the symbols, trying to interpret their meanings.

"These symbols... I think they represent keys to some kind of doors or gateways. We might be at the beginning of a new adventure, where these symbols will lead us somewhere else."

The captain pondered, his eyes fixed on the transparent walls.

"If these symbols are the keys, we need to find the doors that will lead us to the secrets of this place. But we must be careful, for every step here could be a hidden trap."

The party decided to split their efforts between studying the symbols and exploring the room, which had become more like a gateway to other worlds. With each step they took, the marble floor changed beneath their feet, as if responding to their movements.

While the captain examined the transparent walls, he suddenly noticed that one of the landscapes was unlike the others.

There was a massive mountain surrounded by thick black clouds, its peak disappearing into a mysterious fog.

At the base of the mountain, a huge gate appeared, carved into the solid rock, surrounded by statues of strange-looking creatures.

"Look over there!" said the captain, pointing to the scene. "This could be our next destination. We must follow the symbols to see if that gate is the path to the secret we seek."

Mr. Joe, who was trying to decipher the symbols, said seriously, "These symbols require us to solve an ancient riddle. They point to certain elements, perhaps fire, water, earth, and air. If we can interpret them correctly, we might be able to activate the gate."

They began to search for any signs or indicators within the room that could help them solve the riddle.

The floor was divided into sections, each carrying a different engraving representing one of the four elements. After careful study, they decided to arrange the sections based on the symbols of the blue gem.

Once the sections were arranged correctly, the transparent walls began to tremble slightly, as if something were moving behind them. The mountainous scene became clearer as if the room itself were opening up before them.

"We did it!" shouted one of the party members joyfully. But the captain knew this was just the beginning. "We have a long way to go. Prepare for it."

They moved toward the wall displaying the mountain, and as they approached it, the wall slowly parted, revealing a secret passage leading to the massive gate.

The passage was dark and cold, the only light coming from faint glows emitted by the symbols carved into the walls. They advanced cautiously, feeling with each step that they were closer to uncovering a secret unknown to anyone before.

And when they reached the gate, it was larger and grander than they had imagined. Strange engravings covered its surface, and faint sounds emitted from it as if it were roaring in an ancient language.

"This gate is not just an entrance; it is an ancient guardian. We must open it carefully." The captain stood before the gate, studying the engravings intently. "Let us begin," said the captain firmly.

"When that person shouted, the entire group turned at the same moment toward the place he pointed to, where they saw those dark blue lights glowing from afar. As soon as they saw the light, everyone rushed joyfully toward the massive column at the back of the room.

Upon arrival, they approached the large stone column, gazing at the dark blue light emanating from its center. As they got closer, they saw a stone sphere floating in the air, adorned with mysterious runic lines glowing in dark blue.

When Mr. Joe looked at that stone sphere, happiness was evident on his face, and he felt relief that at least he had found something that could sell for a high price.

He laughed, thinking, 'Hehehe, come to your daddy, you piece of lovely money.'

He moved closer to the stone sphere to grab it, but before he could do so, the captain shouted," Wait a moment, Mr. Joe, it might be a trap."

When Mr. Joe heard that, he stopped his attempt to take the stone sphere and stepped back in disappointment; he had hoped for money, but now he had to retreat.

The captain approached the massive stone column after Mr. Joe stepped away and looked at the stone sphere glowing dark blue, pondering whether there was a danger in taking it or not.

Elijah Parker, who wanted to assist their captain, looked around the room for anything that could help them and eventually found strange writings on the stone column.

He stared at them closely but couldn't read them, so he informed the captain, saying, "Boss, look at this."

The captain raised his head and looked up, seeing those strange writings, but he couldn't read them either. After thinking for a moment, he said to his party,

"They are runic writings."

These runes or letters first appeared within the gates centuries ago, and no ordinary person could read them correctly.

When the captain said that, everyone, including hunter Elijah, understood why they couldn't read the writings on the massive stone column.

They sighed in disappointment when they realized they couldn't read the writing. But suddenly, the captain remembered that there was someone in their party who knew a bit about runic writings, so he turned to her and said, "Miss Samantha!"
