Noah didn't know what to do or what it all meant, but he felt like his life had taken a strange and exciting turn at the same time.
This thing was like a game but in reality, it was like he woke up in a new world where he was the MC of an unfamiliar story.
Still, his curiosity was insatiable. Without really thinking, he chose the first option—"Show detailed stats"—and another list appeared, this one showing more specifics about his current stats.
[Strength: 3.2]
[Agility: 3.6]
[Endurance: 9.6]
[Vitality: 1.2]
[Perception: 4.6]
Noah stared at the numbers in disbelief. However, he was amazed at the detail and accuracy that these stats contained.
But he felt an emptiness inside him when he saw the numbers.
His strength and agility were barely above average, and his vitality was laughably low.
A twinge of frustration pricked at him. He felt small, like a speck in an enormous and unfathomable universe. But alongside that frustration, a new feeling bubbled up: ambition.
If these were his stats, then surely they could be improved. He could become stronger, faster, more powerful—he just had to figure out how.
The screen window flickered and then faded, leaving Noah alone with his thoughts in the dim room.
Everything felt the same—the same bed, the same clock ticking away on the wall—but in that moment, he knew that nothing would ever be the same again.
…..
After barely catching the train before it started moving, Noah Nightshade managed to board it and sat by a window.
"Sigh," Noah sighed as he sat by the window on the train heading to the Adventurers' Association branch in Onrad City.
The Adventurers' Association is a governmental organization in the Alliance that oversees hunters, dungeons, guilds, and many others within the human domain.
The train moved towards the next station. As the train started moving, Noah opened his phone and began searching for information on the association's website.
Inside the website, Noah began reading the useful information he needed before reaching the association that he had never visited before in his life.
He remembered when he first registered as a porter at one of the association's facilities, he almost failed the test because he had not read any information beforehand.
After searching the website for a while, Noah did not find much useful information, as most of the information was similar to what he had read in its registration facilities just after successfully registering as a porter.
But it was not a waste of time, as he learned the exact location of the Adventurers' Association and how to register as an awakened hunter for it.
After finishing checking all the information, Noah closed his phone and put it in his pocket, then approached the window and started looking at the corridor where the train was speeding. But as he stared at the corridor, Noah felt that the train was slowing down, and he was able to see everything clearly.
Noah was surprised by this, but he felt happy because he was able to see everything clearly as it slowly passed before his eyes.
For someone like him, his second favorite hobby was enjoying travel, and this scene was amazing and relaxing for him.
Noah continued to stare at the corridor until the train reached its destination, where people started getting out of it.
Noah also got up, got off the train and headed toward the association building.
After walking for a short while, Noah finally arrived at the desired building. He stopped for a while and looked at the tall and huge building that symbolized the association's huge financial power.
Compared to the facilities he had registered in before, there was a huge difference between them like the sky and the earth.
Noah felt a little afraid of this building and hesitated a little before entering it, but he remembered that this day was his first step in the world of hunters, so he tried to encourage himself.
Noah took a deep breath to calm himself down, then entered the huge building.
Inside the building, he saw a huge hall filled with beautiful decorations and many people and Hunters wearing armor and powerful weapons moving around inside the building.
There were some high-ranked Hunters, which made him freeze in place!
Noah had spent five long years in Onrad City, and despite the time that had passed, he had never once witnessed a high-ranked dungeon appear within the city limits.
The adventurers he had encountered were always of lower ranks, everyday faces whose power paled in comparison to the more legendary Hunters.
He had never stood in the presence of a truly powerful Hunter—at least, not until he encountered the trio: Watson, the mysterious white-haired man, and the imposing Gerald Osmond.
These meetings had shaken something inside him, sparking a mix of awe and apprehension.
The sight of such high-ranked Hunters had left Noah feeling both terrified and strangely exhilarated.
It was a world he had always been on the edge of, one that had seemed so distant yet now felt tantalizingly close.
As he stood in the busy hall, staring at the Hunters with wide eyes, the excitement bubbling up within him was undeniable. Today, he would officially register as an Awakened.
Today, he will begin his journey toward becoming one of them!
He took a deep breath, trying to calm the flutter of nerves that accompanied the thrill.
Standing near the entrance of the Adventurers' Association building, he was still slightly out of place, his worn boots and simple attire contrasting sharply with the sleek, battle-hardened look of the veterans who milled about.
His gaze kept darting toward the high-ranked Hunters who moved with a confidence he couldn't yet muster.
Lost in his thoughts, Noah barely noticed the man approaching him.
The stranger had one hand pressed to his ear, talking hurriedly into his phone, while the other clutched a steaming cup of coffee.
He was clearly in a rush, not paying attention to his surroundings.
Bang-!
The collision happened fast. The man slammed straight into Noah, knocking the coffee cup out of his hand. It fell to the floor with a loud clatter, the dark liquid splattering across the polished tiles.
Noah stumbled back, caught off guard by the sudden impact.
"Damn it!" the man snapped, his voice sharp with anger. "Why are you standing in the way?" His glare was fierce, and he gestured wildly at the mess of spilled coffee at their feet.
