Chapter 58: Zhou Ruyan's Decision, All for Her Sister

"It's me, Ye Zi'an. I have something to discuss with you."

Zhou Ruyan felt a bit puzzled. What could Ye Zi'an possibly want to discuss with me?

However, remembering that she needed to borrow some supplies from him tomorrow, she couldn't afford to offend him now.

She opened the door, turned to remind her sister to take care of herself, and then followed Ye Zi'an to the rooftop.

Under the moonlight, Ye Zi'an sized up Zhou Ruyan.

She was indeed worthy of being ranked alongside Lin Qianqian as one of the top campus beauties. Though she looked slightly haggard due to the lack of food these days, her curvy figure more than made up for it.

Zhou Ruyan felt uncomfortable under Ye Zi'an's invasive gaze, but since she still needed his help, she suppressed her discomfort and asked politely, "What do you want to discuss?"

Instinctively, she used a respectful tone in response to his overbearing attitude.

"I'm interested in you. Be my woman."

"What?"

Zhou Ruyan's eyes widened in shock as she stared at him, unable to believe what she had just heard.

Ye Zi'an, unfazed, continued, "I heard what you said to your sister earlier. I do indeed have a fortress on the outskirts of Xia City, with enough supplies to feed 3,000 people for a year."

"Why should I believe you?"

With a wave of his hand, piles of supplies suddenly appeared on the once-empty rooftop.

Even though she had seen Ye Zi'an make supplies disappear from the dormitory earlier, witnessing his inexplicable abilities again left her just as astonished.

Zhou Ruyan, overwhelmed, rushed forward to touch the supplies. She scooped up a handful of rice, the full grains slipping through her fingers, the sound of them falling into the pile entrancing her for a moment.

This wasn't an illusion. These supplies were real. There were at least tens of thousands of pounds of rice, not to mention the bags of flour and ready-to-eat meals nearby.

Ye Zi'an's enticing voice echoed in her ears: "I can let your sister work in my fortress, and I can even cure her illness."

As he spoke, he casually handed her a small bottle of green liquid.

Zhou Ruyan looked at the small vial in confusion. Could this really cure her sister?

Ye Zi'an lit a cigarette and said leisurely, "This potion will help with your sister's condition. You can try it. Come back before I finish this cigarette, and I'll take it as your agreement."

The cigarette burned slowly, its smoke curling into the night as time ticked by. Zhou Ruyan, seeing no reason for him to deceive her with his power, quickly returned to the dormitory and gave her sister the potion.

Zhou Ruyun, puzzled by the unfamiliar potion her sister brought, saw the hopeful look on Zhou Ruyan's face and opened the bottle to drink it.

The green liquid flowed down her throat, and for the first time in a long while, she felt a sensation in her legs. A warm current seemed to flow from her abdomen to her long-numbed limbs.

Tentatively, she pinched her thigh, and a faint pain signaled the return of feeling.

Grabbing Zhou Ruyan's arm excitedly, Zhou Ruyun asked, "Sis, where did you get this medicine? I think my legs are regaining feeling. If I take more, I might be able to walk again."

Though her voice was soft, it was still audible to Ye Zi'an on the rooftop.

Zhou Ruyun's illness was rare, and Ye Zi'an had learned about its cause from the book. Essentially, her body's reaction speed had been deteriorating, and she would eventually become a vegetable, with only her mind active but unable to move. The agility potion he gave her was designed to enhance her response time, and at just 100 points per bottle, it was a small price to pay for winning over the two sisters.

Even if the potion didn't work, Su Wei, a third-tier medical ability user, would be able to cure her in the fortress.

Upon hearing her sister's hopeful response, Zhou Ruyan was thrilled. Ye Zi'an hadn't lied—his potion had indeed helped her sister's condition.

But then she remembered what Ye Zi'an had said earlier, and a wave of panic washed over her. Should she go back up?

Oblivious to the changes in her sister's expression, Zhou Ruyun continued talking excitedly about the future. Once she could walk again, she could join her sister in searching for supplies, no longer confined to the dormitory, and even help with household chores.

Zhou Ruyan hadn't seen her sister this energetic in a long time. Stroking Zhou Ruyun's hair gently, she made up her mind. "This potion came from my agreement to merge the survivor group into Ye Zi'an's fortress on the outskirts. As long as we work, everyone can eat."

"Alright, I need to go back up to finalize the details of the merger. I might be back late, so go to sleep early."

With that, Zhou Ruyan resolutely left the dormitory and rushed back to the rooftop.

Ye Zi'an's cigarette had just finished burning, the last bit of ash falling onto the wall.

She had made it in time.

Ye Zi'an flicked the cigarette butt off the rooftop and said calmly, "Looks like you've made your choice."

Zhou Ruyan bit her lip and slowly nodded, though tears welled up in the corners of her eyes, much to Ye Zi'an's displeasure.

He walked up to her, grabbed her chin, and said coldly, "This is a transaction. Don't act so wronged. There are plenty of girls prettier than you who would kill for this opportunity."

"And the benefits I mentioned aren't the only ones. You'll find out soon enough."

His words reminded Zhou Ruyan—this was a voluntary trade. What was there to feel wronged about?

She collected herself and said obediently, "I understand. I won't act like this again. I'll focus on being your woman from now on."

As long as her sister could recover, any sacrifice was worth it.

Satisfied with her newfound obedience, Ye Zi'an smiled approvingly.

The supplies on the rooftop disappeared, and in their place, a large bed appeared out of nowhere.

Though shocked, Zhou Ruyan didn't show it.

Here?

Without hesitation, she sat on the edge of the bed and, under the moonlight, slowly began to remove her clothes.

The moonlight bathed her pale body as Ye Zi'an admired her perfect figure. Coupled with the sorrowful expression on her face, she indeed evoked pity.

But something seemed missing.

Ah, of course. Ye Zi'an produced a set of gym clothes and smiled, signaling for her to put them on.
