Chapter 131 Miracle on a Moonlit Night

A monstrous creature approached, its fierce gaze already spotting its partner's "trimmed" claws from a distance. It let out a roar that echoed through the night sky. The beast carrying Wang Xuan and his companions also growled in response. "What are you looking at? I'll kill you first!" Wang Xuan glared at it. Zhao Qinghan, holding onto his waist, felt tense and sighed; there was no way to escape this calamity, and they were likely doomed. With two master-level monsters converging, she was prepared for death. "You have to believe in miracles," Wang Xuan said calmly, holding his short sword, ready for battle. To lighten the tense atmosphere, he downplayed the situation, pretending to be nonchalant. "For us, this might not be misfortune; perhaps it's an opportunity to harvest spiritual herbs in their lair. For now, hold on tight and enjoy the night in the Secret Realm. If you feel uncomfortable, just close your eyes." Listening to him, Zhao Qinghan couldn't help but sigh at how carefree he was, remaining calm even now. For a moment, she wondered if Wang Xuan had actually reached master level, but dismissed it—there was no way he could have advanced so quickly in just a month or two.

"Roar!" The second monster swooped down directly at them. "A miracle is about to happen!" Wang Xuan shouted, his eyes shining as two beams of light shot out. He decided to go all out and strike down one monster with overwhelming force. Zhao Qinghan felt a tremor in her heart; seeing Wang Xuan's expression and the brilliance in his eyes made her wonder if he truly had entered the master realm.

Boom! A dazzling golden light rushed past, splattering blood and causing chaos in the air from a recent explosion. Wang Xuan, sword in hand, felt slightly stiff; he hadn't even attacked yet, and the monster had already vanished! His spiritual domain surged, capturing a terrifying scene! At the crucial moment, a golden bird of prey flew by, so fast it was like a blinding flash of lightning cutting through the darkness and then disappearing. It was undoubtedly supersonic; only after it passed did the night air carry a deafening sonic boom.

The golden bird soared away, leaving only a fading streak of light, disappearing almost instantaneously. What kind of creature was this in the Secret Realm? "Aww…" the beast carrying them growled, trembling as it dove toward the ground, clearly terrified. It was splattered with its partner's blood, in a state of pure panic. "What kind of creature is that? Is it the so-called… miracle?" Zhao Qinghan's voice quivered. She hadn't expected Wang Xuan's prediction of a miracle to actually come true!

"It's… the miracle has arrived," Wang Xuan said, his mouth dry, preparing to demonstrate his master-level power when, unexpectedly, a mysterious creature intervened. At the same time, a chill ran down his spine. The golden bird was too powerful; it swallowed the monster whole and crushed it, as effortlessly as a swallow catching insects in the night sky. "We're close to the ground; don't think too much. We need to prepare to escape," Zhao Qinghan urged. The monster dived towards the earth, flapping its wings to slow its descent just meters from the ground. "Another miracle… it's here!" Zhao Qinghan exclaimed.

A golden ray approached from the horizon, moving at supersonic speed, making no sound as it streaked across the sky, like a flying sword cutting through the moonlit night. "Descend, land quickly!" Wang Xuan shouted. The golden creature was definitely extraordinary, hunting master-level monsters as if they were mere prey. The beast was even more anxious, filled with terror, and plummeted towards the dense forest.

"It's too late!" Zhao Qinghan's face turned pale; the golden bird was closing in, moving many times faster than the monster. Wang Xuan saw it open its golden beak, ready to feed, and his heart raced—likely, it would swallow both him and Zhao Qinghan. In a split second, Wang Xuan swung his short sword, severing the monster's hind legs. It screamed in agony, eyes turning red, letting out a mournful wail.

In that moment, its primal instincts kicked in; the pain stripped it of reason, and it flapped its wings violently in a reflexive reaction. This bought Wang Xuan and Zhao Qinghan some time. As the monster struggled in the air, they both plummeted toward the forest below. "Hold tight! Protect your eyes from branches!" Wang Xuan reminded her. The monster, driven mad by pain, quickly regained its senses, no longer flapping its wings violently, but diving into the woods. However, no matter how it tried to escape, it couldn't avoid the golden bird, which merely bought time for Wang Xuan and Zhao Qinghan's escape.

With a bang, the monster vanished, leaving only blood splattering downward. A golden light grazed the forest floor, smashing through the massive canopies of ancient trees, causing a terrifying explosion that nothing could withstand. Moments later, a sonic boom erupted behind it, shaking the mountains and sending many fierce beasts fleeing. Wang Xuan sheathed his sword and reached for the branches of the ancient trees below. The benefits of his Golden Body Technique became apparent—he wasn't afraid of impacts.

Of course, he had to ensure Zhao Qinghan avoided the larger branches; in their rapid descent, he broke several branches and even shattered some trunks with his back to slow down, ultimately grabbing onto a branch to steady himself. Crack! But the branch snapped, and he fell to the ground. With a thud, a rock shattered upon impact, mainly due to the steel plate on his back. He had done his best to protect Zhao Qinghan, but she was still left dazed. How had they both survived this night of miracles?

In the distance, the roars of beasts echoed, scared off by the golden bird, leaving the forest eerily quiet. "Is it going to continue hunting, treating us as food too?" Wang Xuan's expression turned serious; it was indeed possible that the golden bird liked to circle back for another kill. As if on cue, a golden light streaked across the sky, followed by an explosive sound. Both of them froze; it truly was circling back, likely wanting to swallow them as well.

In an instant, they fell silent, lying side by side on the ground, waiting. After a quarter of an hour, they relaxed as the golden bird did not return. "It's not a miracle; something must have happened to you!" Under the moonlight, Zhao Qinghan looked at Wang Xuan with bright eyes, tilting her head.
