Chapter 6: The Three Lives Stone

Ling Hao's heart was in a state of shock, and he could hardly believe his eyes. On that yellow spring road under his feet, that person with lost eyes and a wooden look was exactly the same as himself! The withered Leng Yunchuan beside him even made Ling Hao's heart beat faster. Leng Yunchuan seemed to have noticed it as well, and his eyes locked with Ling Hao's, his brows slightly frowning, a wave of uneasiness surging up in his heart.

"What the ... hell is going on here?" Ling Hao asked in a low voice, his tone filled with confusion and alarm that he had never felt before.

Leng Yunchuan's face remained calm, although she also felt a trace of uneasiness, but as someone who had survived crises for years, she was even better at suppressing her emotions than Ling Hao. "I don't know," she responded lightly, but her tone was vaguely nervous. "Maybe it's some kind of illusion of this path, or ... some kind of reflection of our death?"

Ling Hao wiped the cold sweat seeping out of his forehead, although Leng Yunchuan's explanation sounded barely reasonable, the scene was just too bizarre to be reassuring. "Why don't we go down and take a look?" Ling Hao asked tentatively, his hand unconsciously pressing on the hilt of the sword at his waist.

Leng Yunchuan pondered for a moment, his gaze once again falling on "them" below. "We don't know where we're going right now, so going down rashly might be even more dangerous. Besides, if it's really an illusion, going to see it may not be of any use." Her words were calm with a bit of rationality.

Ling Hao nodded, although his heart was still full of doubts, Leng Yunchuan's words made sense. Their current situation was unknown, and it was indeed unwise to act rashly. "Point taken, Schemer, I'll listen to you this time." He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down.

The giant tortoise was still flying slowly, and the scenery around it became increasingly cold and eerie. The two of them stood on its back, and as its wings flapped slightly, their vision gradually expanded, and the Yellow Springs world in front of them seemed like a living hellish painting, suffocating.

As the flight continued, Ling Hao and Leng Yunchuan gradually moved away from the Yellow Springs Road, and the scenery under their feet began to change. The mists gradually became thinner, their vision became much clearer, and in the distance, a mysterious sight came into their eyes.

"What is that?" Ling Hao squinted his eyes and pointed to the distance.

Leng Yunchuan followed his gaze, only to see that in the depths of the mist, a huge stone stood alone, its surrounding aura permeated with an eerie sense of mystery. The stone was surrounded by a dim blue light, as if it was enveloped by some ancient power, and around the stone, the dim blue halo seemed to carry some kind of ominous omen, and from afar, the light flowed through the air like water, constantly surging. It was like a boundary that shrouded heaven and earth.

"It might be the Three Lives Stone." Leng Yunchuan's voice was low and solemn. She had heard about this mysterious stone in the rumors of the Yang world, and the legend said that the Three Lives Stone was engraved with the past, present and future lives of the living, and that the deceased could glimpse their destiny by touching the stone.

Ling Hao had heard about the legend of the Three Lives Stone, but he had never actually seen such a thing. "Can you really see past lives on that?" His tone carried a bit of skepticism and curiosity. Leng Yunchuan stood beside him, her gaze also drawn tightly to that mysterious stone. She took a deep breath and her voice was low and solemn: "Legend has it that the Three Lives Stone is engraved with the past lives, present lives, and future lives of every deceased person. As long as you touch it, you can get a glimpse of your destiny, but this power is also full of danger. After touching the Three Lives Stone, many deceased souls couldn't bear the truth of their own destiny, and they completely perished in pain."

Ling Hao frowned at the stone, and a chill couldn't help but well up in his heart. "Is it really that evil?"

Leng Yunchuan didn't answer, her gaze fixed on that huge stone, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes. "That's what the rumors say, but it's also the first time I died, so who knows," she glanced at Ling Hao lightly, but in the bottom of her heart, she felt a hint of uneasiness. Ling Hao was going to ask further questions, but he was dumbfounded by Leng Yunchuan's words, so he had to stop.

The flying speed of the giant tortoise gradually slowed down, as if it was trying to get closer to the Three Lives Stone. Its huge body slowly landed in the air, eventually stopping at the open space in front of the Three Lives Stone. The two of them got down from the turtle's back and stood in front of this huge stone, and immediately felt an inexplicable sense of oppression coming over them.

The surface of the Three Lives Stone looked ancient and mysterious, and the texture of the stone was intricate, as if it had experienced countless years of wind and frost. Fuzzy engravings could be vaguely seen on the surface of the stone, and those traces looked like some kind of ancient writing, yet they were difficult to recognize. The air around the stone seemed to be filled with a low power, and every trace of wind that blew by carried an icy chill.

Ling Hao slowly approached, his eyes wandered over the stone, and violently like an invisible force drummed into him, making him unable to resist reaching out his hand, wanting to touch this mysterious stone. Just at the moment his fingertips were about to touch the stone surface, Leng Yunchuan snapped out, "Don't touch!"

Ling Hao's hand paused in mid-air as he glanced back at Leng Yunchuan with a few doubts on his face and said tentatively, "If it's just an ordinary stone, wouldn't you know if you try it?"

Leng Yunchuan's eyes showed a hint of vigilance as she slowly walked forward, her gaze never leaving the stone. "Even if it's not the Three Lives Stone, who knows if it's dangerous or not, and in case you touch it, whether it will trigger certain unknown risks is not yet known." Her voice was calm with a hint of warning.

Ling Hao was silent for a moment and hesitantly put his hand back. He knew that Leng Yunchuan's intuition was always accurate, and she wouldn't stop him for no reason. Looking at the stone again, the aura it gave off really made him feel uneasy. Ling Hao nodded slightly, "Alright, listen to you." As he said that, he took a few steps back and stood side by side with Leng Yunchuan, his gaze still locked on that mysterious stone.

As they stood in front of the Three Lives Stone, the air around them seemed to have frozen, and there was silence all around. The stone's light flickered on and off, as if it was breathing, emitting a faint blue halo.

"If this is the Three Lives Stone, then does the rumor say how to see this scene of past lives?" Ling Hao couldn't help but ask, his eyes still carrying a bit of curiosity.

Leng Yunchuan gently shook his head, "It's not clear, after all, no one has really seen it", Ling Hao stared at the Three Lives Stone, his heart still a little bit curious, and even with a few moments of unwillingness. He had experienced countless lives and deaths, and had seen many incredible things, but the mystery of this stone in front of him made him incomparably moved, yet fearful.

Right at this moment, the light of the Three Lives Stone suddenly became bright, the blue light instantly illuminating the surrounding space. Those vague lines on the stone seemed to be gently wriggling, as if they were gradually reviving. The two of them unanimously took a few steps back, their gazes staring warily at the stone.

"It's moving?" Ling Hao frowned, a wave of uneasiness surging up in his heart.

Leng Yunchuan didn't say anything, her hand was already on the saber at her waist, ready to deal with any unexpected situation.

The moment the light of the stone reached its brightest, the air around them suddenly became incredibly cold, and Ling Hao and Leng Yunchuan simultaneously felt a chill rising from the soles of their feet. Those ancient patterns on the stone began to emerge on their own, gradually forming a strange pattern. That pattern looked like a seal, and in the center of the seal was actually a twisted human face!

The expression on that face was extremely painful, as if it was undergoing some kind of extreme torture. Its mouth was wide open, seemingly crying out silently, and its eyes were empty and lifeless, flowing out black liquid.

"What is this thing?" Ling Hao gripped the sword in his hand tightly, his eyes filled with vigilance.

Leng Yunchuan's expression also became grave as she stared closely at the face, vaguely feeling a trace of ominous foreboding in her heart. "By the looks of it, it seems like we've disturbed something that shouldn't be disturbed." She said in a low voice, with a hint of coldness in her tone.

Just as the two of them were staring intently at the Three Lives Stone, the earth beneath their feet suddenly began to vibrate slightly. The light of the stone grew brighter, and the twisted face seemed to be struggling out of the stone. The chill in the air grew thicker, as if the entire space was frozen.

"Move!" Leng Yunchuan said coldly, her voice dripping with unquestionable orders.

Ling Hao didn't hesitate and quickly followed behind Leng Yunchuan, turning around and running in the direction of the giant turtle. They knew that the power hidden behind the Three Lives Stone was far beyond their imagination, and the current ones were simply unable to fight against it.

They had just run onto the back of the giant turtle when that Three Lives Stone suddenly erupted with a burst of blinding blue light, and the entire space seemed to be

distorted in an instant. The agonized face on the stone let out a silent scream, and then the surface of the stone began to rapidly crack, and a large amount of black mist erupted from the cracks. Those black mists looked like they were alive, quickly spreading out and sweeping through the entire space.

Ling Hao and Leng Yunchuan clung onto the giant turtle's armor, trying to maintain their balance. Their eyes were blurred, and they could only feel the intense coldness and vibration.

"Fly!" Ling Hao roared lowly and patted the giant turtle's back.

The giant tortoise seemed to sense the danger as well, and with a violent flap of its huge wings, its entire body rose up into the air and flew towards the distance.

The cracks of the Three Lives Stone became more and more numerous, and eventually, the entire stone completely collapsed in a violent vibration, and the black mist gushed out like a flood, instantly devouring everything around them.

Ling Hao and Leng Yunchuan stood on the back of the giant turtle, their hearts still filled with doubts and uneasiness. Everything in this Yellow Springs world was full of mysteries, and all they could do was to keep moving forward to find the truth.
