Chapter 14: The top reward

"The fifth-ranked man on the cultivation list, the 'Zhenhai Great Emperor,' has finally reached the apex of the Great Emperor realm and shall be rewarded with the plant of Immortality Elixir of Heaven!"

"The fourth-ranked 'Longshen Monster Emperor' has also reached the peak of the Great Emperor realm and is rewarded with true dragon's blood!"

"The third one is the 'Xuanming,' who, at the peak of Great Emperor, will receive the half-step Immortal Sutra as a reward!"

"In the second place, we have the 'Great Emperor of Time and Space,' who has achieved the Great Emperor rank. Heaven will give him a sliver of immortal energy!"

"And finally, he is the first-ranking person to be cultivated-there are no words that can express the respect he deserves. He has surpassed all known limits, and even heaven itself trembles with reverence. Refining the Heart of the Universe allows one to sit on top of the cosmos, achieving a lifespan as long as heaven and earth, and commanding everything in existence!"

"The ranking of the Universe Cultivation has been published. Anyone who appears in this list will be given a gift from Heaven. The ranking of Physical Fitness is going to be published within one year!"

All were extremely copious and amazingly rewarding, closely related to the pursuit of immortality, whether it be through the Elixir of Immortality or the Immortal Qi. Even if they didn't bestow immortality itself, they at least represented a very important step toward achieving that goal.

Of course, the declaration of the top-ranked individual caused everyone to fall dumbstruck.

In the far and deep place of the universe, there stood a very, very old man who radiated lots of temporal and spatial energy. This old fellow seemed shocked. Not even the Supreme Heavenly Dao mentioned this person or dared to glance at him. What kind of cultivation could this person be?

Can this be an immortal?

"This must be the great hermit! If not, then there must at least be rumor or indication of his existence!"

The eldest of the nine Great Emperors, The Great Emperor of Time and Space, well-educated and a veteran practitioner of the arts of time and space, had never met a person like this. A plausible reason for this was that this person deliberately concealed their identity.

"Though heaven has granted me immortal energy, true immortality may still elude me. But if I can find this powerful recluse, maybe I'll get a glimpse of the path to immortality!"

The Great Emperor of Time and Space narrowed his eyes in thought. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for someone like him.

With this idea in his mind, he stepped out of his hermitage into a journey through the human world to find the great hermit who may be buried somewhere in some inconspicuous corner.

Not only did the Great Emperor of Time and Space act but also the other eight Great Emperors took action. Some of them ventured into the world, while others sent tens of thousands of followers to search for the number one ranked, hoping for clarification of the road to immortality.

Other forces did not send out reinforcements for the time being. Instead, they turned all of their attention to the Physical Fitness List. If the cultivation list promised such great rewards, the Physical Fitness List would surely promise good benefits as well.

Right away, search for physical prodigies and strive to get on the list to earn rewards in a year!

Major factions issued orders in response.

Within the Xian family, upon hearing the several elders absorb the astonishing rewards announced for the powerful figures and Heaven, a bright golden light suddenly materialized in front of Xian Yue, who sat in the clan leader's seat.

This dazzling golden light emitted a supreme aura.

"What is going on?" Xian Wu asked, looking at the unexpected golden sphere.

As the light receded, a very clear, golden heart the size of a fist appeared. It pulsed gently with golden light and bore strange runes on its surface.

"What is this? Why does this give a sense of comfort?" the Great Elder asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.

The mystique of the heart attracts several elders near.

"Heart of the Universe!" Xian Yue declared.

"Heart of the Universe? The name is familiar," Xian Feng said, raising his brow.

"Where did you hear that? Isn't this reward granted to the strongest person ranked at the first place on the Heavenly Dao Golden List?" Second Elder Xian Yuanshan exclaimed.

"What? Heart of the Universe? How can this be? How could it possibly be in our Xian family?"

"The clan leader must be joking! You're not even twenty years old; how could you possibly be the most powerful individual in the universe?"

Although the reward appeared miraculously, nobody believed that Xian Yue could hold that title of the top-ranked person in the Heavenly Dao Golden List. Everyone had watched him grow up, and it seemed unbelievable that he could be the most powerful being.

"Then that's just perfect. If that's your opinion, then I will show you who I really am!"

"see," Xiao Chen said, knowing that only by showing them his strength could he help instill confidence in his clansmen. Otherwise, even slight threats, like the Scarlet Moon Sect, would scare them.

"So, Patriarch, what is your plan to prove it?" the Great Elder asked with a playful tone in his voice.

But Xian Yue just sat there, staring into the sky, and commanded, "Heaven, I commission you to reveal my name on the Golden List!"

"Hahaha, clan leader, do you seriously think you can command Heaven? Does the patriarch believe he can order the heavens about?"

The Great Elder sneered, thinking Xian Yue couldn't possibly command Heaven.

Within a moment, the colors shining on the Golden List exploded as it brightened up the whole universe.

Then the Heavenly Dao released its voice in the universe to give all a shock: "The Heavenly Dao strongest one's decree is to put his name on the Gold List, and all shall obey!"

Everyone's gazes turned once again to the Heavenly Dao Gold List, and it said there at the top was Xian Yue!

More names appeared there in gold, but there wasn't another like Xian Yue's name. It had a brilliance and colorful light around it, showing it was something special.

"What marks a mighty immortal? Such is what real power is all about! The Heavenly laws have to stand before him!"

The Great Emperor of Time and Space felt his mouth go wide with wonder as he thought about the scope of cultivation that was needed for such an achievement.

"That senior must be located; maybe I will get to know the road to immortality!"

As Xian Wu and the others hastily left the meeting hall, they were utterly shocked by the names on the Golden List in the sky.

Had the name "Xian Yue" not been the first one, they may have thought it coincidental. But after having heard the declaration to Heaven and witnessed how the list responded, the truth was undeniable.

The patriarch is indeed the most powerful person ranked first on the universe's cultivation list!
