Chapter 70: Blossom Beast Hall, Gourmet

At that time, Gui Lao was utterly shocked, losing his mind, and his body became paralysed, immobile!

"It really changed!" exclaimed Xian Tian, who felt a flurry of curiosity to observe the scene. With little exposure to the world of cultivation, everything around him seemed novel and interesting.

"Hey, do you remember Xian Zhan, who left the family not long ago? He died at his doorstep, but suddenly the clan leader brought him back to life!"

In comparison, Xian Yin was relatively composed. After all, he had witnessed far stranger occurrences.

"Reviving the dead? Wow! That requires an incredible level of cultivation!" Xian Tian exclaimed in disbelief.

"Who knows? Anyway, the patriarch once claimed he's unbeatable!" Xian Yin shrugged casually.

"What's going on with you, Mr. Ghost? Is something really wrong with this body?" Xian Yan asked, with a serious look on his face.

"No, not at all. This body is just like the previous one. Even the wounds of my soul have fully recovered to their maximum level!" Gui Lao answered, staring intently at Xian Yue with a look of amazement. "Who is this Clan Leader? Could he be one of the Great Emperors?"

Only a Great Emperor could do this!

"A Great Emperor? Ha! Did you catch my name on the Dao Golden List the other day?" Xian Yue said with a nonchalant smile, leading everyone towards Blossom Beast Hall.

Gui Lao gazed up at the immense golden list still suspended in the sky.

Then, he suddenly saw the name at the very top.

His eyes shrank with shock as he murmured to himself, as if begging himself to question whether it was really true: could he, indeed, be the one at the top of the gold list? This can't be true, can it?

.

Blossom Beast Hall was one of the only buildings that Feihua City didn't get defiled during the earlier battle.

As Xian Lang had said, the last battle between the Lingyun Sect and the Cangwu Sect brought huge destruction to Feihua City, causing hundreds of casualties. So this year, the lines at Fengwu Garden were ridiculously shorter, but it was still full of life.

When Xian Yue brought his group into Blossom Beast Hall, the once loud chirping among patrons slowly died down to a silent await, looking at them.

News of the massive city floating above belonged to the Xian family, with most patrons guessing what kind of supernatural fortune the family had encountered.

As the Xian family members came out, everybody couldn't help themselves in checking them curiously.

But Xian Yue and his companions remained oblivious to this attention as they went straight toward the private room under Xian Lang's guidance.

At that moment, a maid stepped in their path, "You must be from the Xian family, right?"

"Yes, I'm Xian Lang. I reserved a private room earlier; you should have a record of that," Xian Lang confirmed.

"As long as you're part of the Xian family, our landlady has instructed us to treat you exceptionally well. I've upgraded your reservation to our most luxurious private room! Please follow me!" The maid gestured invitingly and led the way.

"What's happening?" Xian Lang wondered aloud, puzzled. He had only booked a standard private room; why was it suddenly changed to the most extravagant one?

"Why worry about it? So long as there is good food to enjoy, that is what matters!" Xian Yue laughed as he followed closely behind the others.

Following the maid's instructions, they entered the lavish private room. Xian Yin took in the environment and noted that the decorations were extremely luxurious. The furniture was filled with spiritual energy, and it was basically incredibly comfortable with their luxurious ambiance.

Outside the window, a pond decorated with colourful lotus flowers presented an attractive view.

"It really is a luxurious private room, much better than the one I had first ordered," Xian Lang said, dazed.

But he couldn't quite understand why it was so.

"Xian Lang, how long did you need to save up those spiritual stones just to order one meal here at Blossom Beast Hall?"

The food here was famously expensive!

"Not long at all. I just ordered a spicy Wuzhen chicken as the main course, and the wine was merely a casual drink. The rest were fairly inexpensive," Xian Lang replied.

While the sum he spent back then felt exorbitant, it now seemed trivial in comparison!

Just a while later, arrived the second course – the main dish of spicy Wuzhen chicken. It really filled the room with enticing aroma, raising excitement in the diners' minds.

"That's weird that the main dish is presented first," mused Xian Lang.

"Don't ask questions, just dig in!" replied Xian Yin excitedly.

Xian Yue was an out-and-out gourmand, and he quickly didn't hesitate. He picked a piece of chicken and began chewing. And at once, the flavors exploded in his mouth!

"This flavor alone is superior to anything we've ever had before!" said Xian Yue, eyes lighting up with astonishment. "Our family can't prepare meals as good as these!"

This Wuzhen chicken was a prized delicacy; it was not easily found in Feihua City.

Nothing could describe the perfect harmony the spicy flavors created with the umami flavor from the chicken, presenting it to him as having a taste and flavor that simply couldn't be compared to anything he had ever tasted before.

"Delicious!" exclaimed Xian Yin, this while taking a piece of chicken with joyful abandon and then nodding in agreement.

Step by step, others also joined the marathon of feasting.

This is the world of spiritual cultivation! Even the food is leagues better than what ordinary people eat!" Xian Tian exclaimed, having never tasted anything quite like this before.

In addition, the dishes appeared to be charged with spiritual energy, and after every bite, they felt invigorated.

"I've heard that there are chefs in the spiritual world known as gourmets. They prepare various delicacies using special techniques. Not only do they enhance the flavors, but they also amplify the spiritual energy within the ingredients. Consuming such delicacies can aid in one's cultivation!" Xian Lang shared, his enthusiasm evident.

"I always thought that was just a myth, but it seems like it's true!"

"I have decided that our family should develop a clan of gastronomes in the future. It would save us the problem of scouring for tasty food!" Xian Yue announced decisively.

"That would not be easy to do. I have heard gourmet chefs had special family recipes that couldn't be easily replicated minus the knowledge," Xian Lang replied incredulously with a shake of his head.

"Nothing's impossible!"

Just then, the second dish arrived, but it wasn't what Xian Lang had ordered. Instead, it was a specialty of Blossom Beast Hall—fish head stewed with tofu.

The fish was a spiritual variety, and the tofu was made from a special type of spiritual bean!

"What's going on? I didn't order this!" Xian Lang exclaimed, confused.

"Enjoy, a special offering from our landlady, just for the Xian family!" the waiter said, wheeling over a steaming trolley.

"Here we go with the landlady again. Could it be that she's taken a fancy to one of us? Is she in love with her little crush?" Xian Yin teased, looking at the group. "Come on, spill the beans!"
