Chapter 95: Immortal World, Deformed Dragon

Although this was the method typically used by Immortal Emperors, Xian Yue didn't need to tear open the boundary wall at all. The wall seemed invisible to him, and he crossed into the Immortal World in a single step.

As he surveyed the world around him, Xian Yue noted that it was vastly different from the outside world. Instead of the endless Star Domains that typically dominated such places, this realm was a massive, untamed continent.

"The spiritual energy here is incredibly dense and overwhelming. This place must be brimming with heavenly treasures and rare materials," he murmured to himself.

A chuckle escaped him as he thought, "No wonder there aren't any beings from this world on the Heavenly Dao Golden List. They've isolated themselves from the rest of existence."

Xian Yue shook his head, releasing his divine sense, and soon pinpointed the location of the Dragon Clan.

"Interesting, there really are true dragons in this world," he said with a smile.

In the blink of an eye, he traversed billions of miles and appeared within the massive city known as Ancestral Dragon City, the heart of the Dragon Clan's territory.

The true core of the Dragon Clan lay within the Dragon Nest, which could only be accessed through Ancestral Dragon City. However, before venturing further, Xian Yue decided to indulge himself. He located a bustling chamber of commerce in the city and, with little effort, purchased various ingredients, including a few rare dragon bones.

A connoisseur at heart, Xian Yue never missed an opportunity to sample the delicacies of a new land.

Upon entering the most lavish restaurant in Ancestral Dragon City, he took a seat. Almost immediately, he overheard a group of Immortal Dao cultivators discussing a recent development.

"I've heard that something monumental is about to happen in our Immortal World," one of them said, lowering his voice.

Curiosity piqued, another Immortal King seated nearby leaned in and asked, "What exactly is going on? Do you know any specifics?"

The first speaker nodded. "Indeed, it's something quite significant, but it's only been circulating among the major powers. It isn't exactly a secret anymore."

"Does it involve the heavens?" another cultivator interjected.

"Yes, precisely. You can see it for yourself from a distance if you look toward the heavens. The sheer power of faith gathered there is astonishing, creating various extraordinary visions in the sky."

He paused for dramatic effect before continuing. "Word is that the power of faith has reached an unprecedented level. Soon, it might trigger ascension."

At this revelation, even Xian Yue turned his head slightly, intrigued.

"I've heard that when the time comes, the Heavenly Emperor will lead all the Immortal Emperors, using the power of faith to ascend beyond this world," the speaker added in a hushed tone.

The news drew a wave of reactions from the table. "Ascension? Where would they go?" someone asked.

"No one knows for sure. I've only heard snippets from powerful figures in some of the great factions. Perhaps only the Immortal Emperors themselves understand," came the reply.

"And what about us?" asked another cultivator.

"What about us? This event has nothing to do with us. It's a celebration exclusively for the Immortal Emperors. But I've heard that all beings in the Immortal World will be invited to witness the spectacle. Some have already begun their journey to the heavenly realm to secure a spot," said the insider.

"They're leaving already? Does that mean the ascension is imminent?" another person asked, wide-eyed.

"At most, it's a few decades away."

"That's not much time at all! We should make our way there too. If we wait any longer, we might miss out on witnessing this once-in-an-eternity event," one suggested.

"Agreed," the others chimed in, hastily getting up and leaving the restaurant.

"Using the power of faith to ascend?" Xian Yue mused aloud. His gaze shifted, and with his vision extending beyond time and space, he peered directly at the heavenly realm they spoke of.

He saw a grand floating island adorned with magnificent palaces, gleaming in golden light that spilled out into the surrounding air. Dragons and phoenixes soared through the skies while unicorns roared, and all manner of divine phenomena manifested.

These dazzling sights were formed entirely by the power of faith and had nearly taken on tangible form.

"Ascension? Is that all it is?" Xian Yue said to himself, his voice filled with disdain.

He quickly dismissed the notion. It was impossible for a mere gathering of Immortal Emperors to achieve true transcendence. Still, he acknowledged that the one who orchestrated this grand spectacle had crafted an impressive display.

Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted his thoughts. "Get out of here, you filthy creature!"

Xian Yue's brow furrowed as he looked down at the street. He saw a young beggar being violently kicked to the ground by a well-dressed dragon youth. Blood spewed from the beggar's mouth as he curled up in pain, his face pale with fear.

"How dare you bleed on this sacred ground? Clean it up immediately, or I'll kill you!" the dragon youth yelled furiously, towering over the trembling beggar. The passersby on the street seemed unfazed by the scene, indifferent to the suffering.

Terror filled the beggar's eyes as he quickly rolled up his ragged sleeves and began wiping the blood from the ground, his body trembling.

"What's going on here? That beggar clearly has dragon blood in him. Why is he being treated like this?" Xian Yue asked aloud, his tone laced with confusion.

A waiter who had just brought his food overheard and leaned in to explain with a smirk. "Sir, it's clear that you're not familiar with the customs of the Dragon Clan. Let me enlighten you."

The waiter lowered his voice. "The Dragon Clan is obsessed with blood purity. They strictly forbid mixing their bloodline with any other race. To do so is considered a grievous sin, a desecration of their sacred lineage."

Xian Yue listened intently as the waiter continued. "Any offspring born from such a union, no matter how powerful they may become, are condemned to a life of servitude. They are branded as 'deformed dragons' and are denied any place within the Dragon Clan for the rest of their lives. That beggar you see down there is one such unfortunate soul—a hybrid of dragon and some lesser race."

"If you look closely at his horns, you'll see that one is slightly longer than the other. That's why they call him a deformed dragon," the waiter added, shaking his head.

Xian Yue glanced at the beggar again, this time paying closer attention. Sure enough, the little dragon's horns were uneven, and there was a faint imperfection to his appearance. However, Xian Yue's divine senses probed deeper, and what he discovered caused him to pause.

Golden divine patterns flickered in Xian Yue's eyes as he scrutinized the beggar's essence. His eyes narrowed as he discerned something extraordinary within the boy's lineage.

"Waiter, could you bring that beggar to me?" Xian Yue asked calmly.

The waiter looked startled. "Sir, please don't put me in a difficult position. You saw what just happened. The dragon youth is disciplining him. If I try to intervene, it could cause trouble."

"I'd advise you, sir, not to meddle with the Dragon Clan over a beggar," the waiter warned, his voice dropping to a whisper. "The Dragon Clan is one of the top ten most powerful races in the Immortal World. Provoking them isn't worth the risk."

This was Ancestral Dragon City, after all, where the Dragon Clan ruled supreme. Few would dare challenge them, especially over something so trivial.

Xian Yue nodded slightly. "Very well. I won't trouble you. Carry on with your work."

Before the waiter could react, Xian Yue's figure vanished from his seat.

The waiter blinked in disbelief and sighed. "There are always a few fools who think they can meddle in the affairs of the Dragon Clan. But they'll soon find out that these matters are far more dangerous than they seem."

He shook his head, fully expecting trouble to follow.
