128. there is a big order coming

Jason Liu: Alright, just note it down carefully. My client is a Game of Thrones fan, so I need two carriages decorated with the Baratheon family's golden crowned stag on the outside. For the next two, use the Stark family's silver direwolf emblem. As for the final carriage—

Jason paused and quickly sent over a picture.

Jason Liu: Decorate the last carriage according to the image I just sent. The design on the flag has a circle surrounded by six golden five-pointed stars. Inside the circle, there's a phoenix-shaped flame pattern. Got it?

Jason Liu: Also, the top decorations of the carriage need to match the colors in the flag—make sure the design stays consistent.

Jason Liu: Do you understand everything I'm asking for? Is there any issue with this order?

Carriage Factory: Yes, I understand! No problem at all! We can do this!

Jason Liu: Good. I need you to send me a design plan as soon as possible and give me a quote. If I approve it, I'll place the order immediately.

Carriage Factory: Absolutely! I'll contact our factory manager now and try to get the design plan and price to you tonight.

Jason Liu: Sounds good. I'll wait for your reply.

On the other end, Henry, who had just received Jason's message, sat up in his factory dormitory. Without wasting a second, he grabbed his phone and called Thomas, the factory director, to report the big order.

"What? Five custom carriages? Special designs?"

Director Thomas's surprised voice came through the phone, followed by some shuffling sounds as if he were hurriedly getting dressed.

"Henry, listen carefully. Wake up everyone in the dormitory immediately. I need them to start working overtime tonight. I'll call the senior workers right now and head to the factory myself!"

"Got it, Director! I'll notify everyone now!" Henry hung up and began banging loudly on the dormitory doors.

Bang, bang, bang—

The banging echoed through the quiet night, disturbing the employees from their sleep.

"What the hell, Henry? I just fell asleep!"

"Yeah, what's so important in the middle of the night? The factory hasn't been that busy lately!"

"Did you lose your mind or something?"

The workers grumbled and shouted from their rooms. Still, one by one, they climbed out of bed, put on their clothes, and shuffled outside, yawning.

The employees in the dormitory were mostly older, in their 40s or 50s. They had worked at the factory for over a decade and were used to going to bed early. Being woken up at this hour naturally earned Henry plenty of scolding.

Henry, however, didn't care. "This is a real big order! Director Thomas and the chief engineer are on their way right now. Get yourselves ready and head to the factory!"

Hearing that the factory director and the senior engineer were personally coming, the workers quickly washed up and stopped complaining. They understood how tough the economy had been this year—many small factories had closed, leaving countless workers unemployed. The last thing they wanted was to lose their jobs.

About an hour later, Thomas drove into the factory yard, accompanied by Chief Engineer Richard. When they walked into the office, all the workers were already seated and waiting.

At fifty years old, Thomas had short hair peppered with gray and carried himself with the air of a capable leader. "Alright, everyone, sit down! Henry, explain the order and tell us the client's requirements in detail."

Richard followed Director Thomas and took a seat at the head of the table. The workers settled down, eager to hear the details.

Henry opened his phone, pulled up the WeChat chat, and began explaining Jason Liu's requirements step by step.

"The client needs five carriages. Two decorated with the golden crowned stag of the Baratheon family, two with the Stark family's silver direwolf, and the last one with a phoenix flame pattern surrounded by six golden stars, like the picture he provided. He also wants the top decorations to match the carriage's design colors."

Henry added, "I told the client we'd try to have the design and quotation ready tonight. He's waiting for us to get back to him."

Thomas nodded, listening intently. After a moment, he turned to Chief Engineer Richard. "What do you think? Can we have a design ready soon?"

Richard scribbled notes on a pad, sketching rough outlines as Henry spoke. He paused for a moment, ran some quick calculations, and said confidently, "No problem! We can enlarge the components proportionally to match the size of the carriages and still meet the client's requirements."

Richard continued, "The only challenge will be the shock absorption system. The horizontal bar crankshafts we've used before won't provide the level of comfort the client wants. We'll need a design similar to a car chassis for better shock absorption."

Thomas nodded again. "Alright. Get a detailed materials list ready, including the best components available. Work with the purchasing team to calculate the costs, and let's finalize the quotation tonight."

The workers exchanged glances, determined to deliver. They immediately began discussing what materials they'd need and how to organize the work shifts.

Meanwhile, Jason Liu returned to his bedroom, stretched out on his bed, and idly scrolled through his phone while waiting for the factory's reply. Just as he was about to check his messages again, a notification popped up.

Qiqi Sauce: Brother Jason, are you awake? ^_^

Jason paused, surprised. It was a message from Qiqi, a streamer he had followed for a while.

Jason Liu: Still live-streaming this late?

Qiqi replied quickly.

Qiqi Sauce: Yup! I've been live every night, but you never show up anymore. So sad!

Jason Liu smiled faintly. He had been so busy with the company that he hadn't tuned into her streams in ages.

Jason Liu: I've been busy, but I'm free now. I'll log in and join your stream.

Qiqi Sauce: Yay! Thank you, Brother Jason!

Jason opened the app and clicked into Qiqi's live stream. As soon as he entered, the screen lit up with a cheerful alert.

Qiqi Sauce: "Welcome, my favorite 24k Single Dog! Long time no see!"

Jason smirked as the chat blew up.

[Boundless Mana]: Whoa, Single Dog's back? Did you open a company or something?

[The Most Flamboyant Pig]: So that's where you've been! Turning into a boss, huh?

Jason Liu shook his head, amused, as he typed a reply.

(24k Single Dog): Just busy with work. No big deal.

Qiqi giggled on stream. "Well, Brother Single Dog, don't work too hard. Remember to visit Qiqi's stream more often!"

Jason leaned back on his pillow, the conversation in the live chat blending into the background. For the first time in a while, he felt relaxed.

While Jason Liu enjoyed a quiet evening, the Carriage Factory buzzed with energy as the workers rushed to finalize the designs and quotations. Everyone knew how important this order was, and they were determined not to disappoint their director—or the client.

As the clock ticked past midnight, sketches and calculations began to come together. The factory would have its plan ready soon, and Jason Liu's order would move one step closer to reality.
