182. Being Drunk is Really Uncomfortable

What Theon didn't know at this moment was that his second uncle would return one day with a much larger fleet, overthrow his father, King Balon Greyjoy, and claim the Salt Stone Throne as the new ruler of the Iron Islands.

Not only that, but Theon and his sister, Asha, would be forced to flee for their lives, abandoning their homeland.

At this moment, Theon had no interest in dealing with a bastard's glare. After watching Robb take another sip of wine, he leaned in and whispered, "Robb, don't stay here too long. You need to take over for Lord Eddard and entertain the heirs and sons of the noble families in the North."

Robb listened to Theon's words, gave a small nod, and said something brief to Jon before turning away to join another table.

Theon smirked as he glanced at the bastard with an air of superiority before striding off after Robb.

McCann, Marb, Bud, and dicken all witnessed the exchange but remained silent.

After all, Theon Greyjoy was the son of a powerful noble house, as esteemed as Robb Stark himself. None of them had the status to intervene in his behavior.

Jon's expression remained calm. He had long grown used to Theon's constant attempts to provoke him.

The lively feast carried on until late in the afternoon. By the time the drinking finally ended, most of the noble sons from the North were completely inebriated.

Even Lord Eddard Stark, after ensuring his guests were taken care of, sighed deeply and instructed Steward Bernard to have the servants escort the drunken guests to their chambers. However, he himself could not hold on much longer and eventually dozed off as well.

Lady Catelyn had no choice but to take over, personally overseeing the servants in managing the guests after the banquet.

First, the noble lords were assisted by their guards and household attendants back to their respective chambers to rest.

Jason Liu, who was also feeling dizzy and sluggish from the wine, was given a spacious guest room in Winterfell to recover.

Even though his small castle was just outside the walls of Winterfell, Lady Catelyn insisted he stay inside the castle as a courtesy.

Jon and Lena helped Jason, who was already half-asleep from the alcohol, into his designated guest chamber.

Lena and Bella brought warm water and clean towels, carefully wiping away the stains of spilled wine from Jason's clothes before tucking him into bed.

After a quick discussion, Jon, Bud, McCann, and Marb decided to return to their store to check on their responsibilities and ensure that their men were properly managed.

Meanwhile, Lena and Bella remained behind in Winterfell, taking care of Jason as he slept off his drunkenness.

Outside the guest room, dicken, along with Kent, Rubin, and Chris, stood guard to ensure their lord's safety.

As the banquet concluded and the noble heirs retired to their rooms, Winterfell, which had been filled with laughter and noise moments ago, finally fell into a rare silence.

Jason Liu remained unconscious until nightfall, only waking when darkness had fully settled over the castle.

Hearing movement inside, dicken, Kent, Rubin, and Chris entered the room, awaiting their lord's orders.

Jason groaned, pressing his fingers to his forehead as he sat up in bed. He still felt weak, and his head was spinning slightly.

The lingering smell of alcohol on his clothes made him grimace in discomfort, and he felt as if he might vomit at any moment.

"Get me some hot water," he ordered Kent and Rubin. "I need a bath. I can't stand this stench on me."

Kent and Rubin immediately left to fetch wooden tubs from the castle servants, carrying several buckets of steaming water from the kitchens themselves.

Lena and Bella, both blushing, initially insisted on helping Jason undress and prepare for his bath, but he quickly shooed them away.

After closing the door behind them, Jason stripped off his soiled clothes and dipped his hand into the water, testing the temperature. Finding it just right, he climbed in, sighing in relief as the heat seeped into his tired muscles.

Outside, Lena pouted, feeling a little disappointed that Jason refused her service.

Bella, still young but not entirely naive, understood why Jason had sent them away. In Westeros, girls matured early, and many were married by the age of twelve or thirteen.

Had Jason allowed them to remain, Bella would have been far too embarrassed to stay in the room.

Once Jason finished his bath, he dried himself off with a clean towel and dressed in a fine black robe.

Lena and Bella soon re-entered, carrying a small tray with a bowl of warm oatmeal and a plate of greens.

"My lord, it's time for dinner," Lena said, setting the meal on the table. She then walked over and naturally began straightening his clothes, smoothing out any wrinkles.

Jason rubbed his stomach, still feeling queasy and without much appetite.

However, when he saw Bella standing by the table, expectantly waiting for him to eat, he sighed and decided to at least have a few bites.

He sat down and picked up the bowl of oatmeal, its warm aroma filling the air.

The servants in Winterfell had thoughtfully prepared a light meal, knowing he had consumed too much alcohol earlier.

As he ate, Jason asked Lena about the aftermath of the banquet.

She explained that nearly all the noble lords from the North had drunk themselves into a stupor and had been carried to their rooms.

"The lords of House Umber, House Tallhart, and House Karstark are still fast asleep," she added with a small laugh. "They haven't even stirred yet."

Originally, Lady Catelyn had planned for another gathering in the evening, but when she saw that nearly everyone was either unconscious or too exhausted to move, she had no choice but to have the servants bring dinner to their rooms instead.

"What about Lord Eddard?" Jason asked after finishing his meal and wiping his mouth with a napkin. "Has he woken up yet?"

Lena hesitated before shaking her head. "I don't know, my lord…"

It made sense—after all, she was just a maid and wouldn't be privy to the affairs of the Lord of Winterfell.

Jason turned to Kent. "Go find Jory Cassel and ask him if Lord Stark is available tonight. I need to discuss something with him."

Kent nodded. "Yes, my lord! I recognized all of Lord Stark's guards at the banquet today. I will find Ser Jory Cassel right away."

Jason smirked at Kent's enthusiasm. Among his four bodyguards, Kent was the most talkative and always knew how to flatter his lord.

Unlike the honest and straightforward dicken, or the quiet and dependable Rubin and Chris, Kent was always full of smooth words and quick wit.

But Jason had no time for flattery now.

"All right, enough talking. Just go," Jason ordered.

Kent chuckled and hurried off to complete his task, leaving Jason to rest in his chamber, waiting for news of Lord Stark.

Winterfell remained quiet as the night deepened, with only the occasional footsteps of patrolling guards echoing through the stone halls.
