209. This Carriage Looks Solid

"Mr. Liu just called. You and Ryan don't need to go back to the company. Instead, contact the seller of gasoline saws in Zheng City and buy 200 gasoline saws for Ironwood Timber Co."

"Gasoline saws?" Ethan's young face was full of confusion as he glanced at Ryan, who was driving.

While keeping his eyes on the road, Ryan replied, "Tell Brother Oliver not to worry. I know a seller in the trade city who deals in these. We'll head there and check it out."

Ethan nodded and passed on Ryan's words.

"Good. Once you've secured the purchase, transport the saws to the warehouse. Also, see if you can buy some additional gasoline saws while you're at it," Oliver instructed.

"Understood, Oliver. Brother Ryan and I will take care of it. We'll make sure to arrange both the saws and the fuel supply today," Ethan assured him.

"You two are working hard. Once I'm back, I'll treat our department to a nice dinner tonight!" Oliver said with a smile, planning to reward his subordinates.

"Hahaha! That sounds great, Brother ! We're heading out now!" Ethan said cheerfully.

Ryan was also pleased. The job was easy, and the work atmosphere was enjoyable. He and Ethan truly liked working here.

After arranging the purchase, Oliver took out his phone, found the number of Director Thomas from the Carriage Factory, and dialed.

"Hello, is this Director Thomas? This is Oliver from the Fusion Trade and Purchasing Department."

Director Thomas was momentarily surprised before recognizing the caller. His tone immediately became warm. "Ah, Manager Oliver! Nice to hear from you! Has Mr. Liu returned from his business trip yet? I'd love to thank him personally for supporting our carriage factory."

Director Thomas was genuinely grateful to Jason Liu. Business had been slow, especially with major production teams halting their orders this year. However, Fusion Trading's order of 200 carriages had revitalized the factory, even allowing them to expand.

To meet the demand, they had hired 20 additional workers, bringing the total staff to nearly 50. Morale was high, and everyone was hopeful for more business from Fusion Trading.

"Mr. Liu hasn't returned yet, but I'll let him know when he does," Oliver replied politely before getting straight to the point. "I wanted to ask—can your factory manufacture a four-wheeled freight carriage for transporting logs? A simple, sturdy design with a strong steel base and four durable wheels?"

"Freight wagons for logs?" Director Thomas was puzzled. "Aren't logs usually transported by trucks nowadays?"

Oliver cleared his throat awkwardly. "Yes, but this would be for rough, rural dirt roads. The carriages will be pulled by horses and oxen. Can your factory produce them?"

Though confused by the request, Director Thomas didn't ask further. As long as there was an order and profit, it didn't matter why they wanted such carriages.

"Of course, Manager! That kind of carriage is simple to make."

"Really? That's great! I won't need to look elsewhere then," Oliver said, relieved.

"Yes, it's straightforward. We'll build a strong chassis to support several tons of weight, fit it with four durable wheels, and ensure it can be pulled by animals. It's a simple design—we can definitely do it!"

To confirm, Director Thomas called over Chief Engineer Richard and explained the requirements. The engineer thought for a moment before quickly drafting a model using design software.

"Manager Oliver, please hold on. Our engineer is creating a model for the freight carriage right now. Let's exchange WeChat contacts, and I'll send you the design once it's ready," Director Thomas said enthusiastically.

Oliver agreed and added Thomas on WeChat. Within a few minutes, he received the image of the carriage model.

The design was incredibly simple.

The entire carriage was 6 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, with an estimated weight of 700 kilograms. The base was reinforced with I-beams, and a 3mm thick steel plate was welded onto it. Four large, heavy-duty tires made it look stable and durable.

There were positioning holes on both sides where steel bars could be inserted to prevent logs and other cargo from falling off.

At the front, the carriage had a spacious section where two horses could be harnessed side by side. If needed, two additional horses could be attached, allowing a total of four horses to pull the load.

Oliver wasn't an expert in this field, but the carriage seemed sturdy enough to meet Mr. Liu's needs.

Satisfied, he called Jason Liu.

Jason was still at the warehouse when he received the call. He had just finished speaking with Lin Xiaohan, instructing her to arrange double wages for the purchasing department employees this month.

Hearing that the Carriage Factory could manufacture the freight carriages so quickly—and that the design was already completed—surprised him.

"They work fast," he remarked. "Send me the design via WeChat. I'll take a look."

After receiving the image, Jason examined the design closely. It was exactly what he had envisioned—perhaps even simpler. The carriage looked strong, reliable, and capable of handling heavy loads without breaking down.

"This will work. Go ahead with production," Jason instructed. "By the way, how much does each carriage cost?"

"Let me check," Oliver replied before messaging Director Thomas.

Less than a minute later, Thomas responded: each freight carriage would cost 10,000 yuan.

Oliver relayed the information.

Jason made a swift decision. "Order 200 units at that price."

"Understood, Mr. Liu! I'll confirm with them right away," Oliver responded promptly.

With the purchase finalized, Jason turned his attention back to the warehouse, which had now been cleared. It was time to return to Westeros.

Stepping out of the castle warehouse in Winterfell's market town, he saw four of his men—dicken, Kent, Chris, and Rubin—standing guard.

"My lord!" The four men immediately straightened and saluted upon seeing him emerge.

Jason nodded in acknowledgment, pleased with their discipline.
