Chapter 53: Standing Up

When she finally recovered from the initial shock, Suo He was about to call out when she recognized the familiar scent of the person in front of her.

"Mr. Gu!" Although she couldn't see the man's face clearly, just the smell of Gu Mo was enough for her to identify him unmistakably.

"So you recognized me that quickly?" The man let out a muffled laugh, his voice enveloping her from above and making her legs go weak with its deep and sensual timbre.

Upon hearing Gu Mo's voice, Suo He felt a surge of joy and, without thinking, leaned her head on his shoulder. "Mr. Gu, what are you doing? Playing hide-and-seek with me?"

Her naive question made Gu Mo laugh again.

"No, let's play a different game," he said.

"What?"

Without answering, Gu Mo captured her lips in a kiss in the darkness. This kiss was hotter and more intense than any they had shared before, gradually deepening and then wandering to other places.

Suo He's mind went dizzy, feeling as if all her senses had been awakened, making her sensitive to the very air around her.

Only when Gu Mo released her lips and left his marks on her neck and collarbone did he stop, as if a beast had claimed its territory. Satisfied, he pulled back.

"Is this game fun?" he asked teasingly.

Suo He's face turned red. If there had been light, Gu Mo would have seen her shy, dewy-eyed expression, and the game really would have been impossible to end.

"What are you talking about, Mr. Gu? You're bullying me..."

"It's you who didn't keep your promise. You said you'd sleep with me, but you ran away halfway. Since you've done something wrong, should I not teach you a lesson?" Although his words sounded like a scolding, there was no real blame in them.

Suo He didn't know what Gu Mo looked like at the moment, but from his words, she could tell that Mr. Gu wasn't really angry.

"Since you've already bullied me, you can't blame me," Suo He said, taking advantage of the situation.

"At a time like this, you know how to be clever," Gu Mo said, pinching her nose. "I won't let anyone call you silly anymore!"

Although still in the dark, which was Suo He's least favorite environment, she didn't feel any other emotions because of Gu Mo's presence. Her heart was filled with him, and she was extremely happy.

After talking for a while, Gu Mo kissed her forehead restrainedly. "Goodnight for real this time. Go to sleep."

A few seconds later, the bedroom light came on.

Suo He, who had just adjusted to the light, saw Gu Mo sitting in a wheelchair next to her.

"I'm leaving," Gu Mo said, smiling slightly before pushing the door open and leaving.

It wasn't until Gu Mo had been gone for a long time and Suo He had lain down in bed that she began to sense something was off. But what exactly was it? The environment had been too dark, and she hadn't really seen Gu Mo's face or body clearly.

She thought hard, but due to her limited intelligence and slow reaction, she couldn't figure out what felt strange.

Unable to come up with an answer, Suo He gave up and soon fell asleep without any worries.

Back in his room, Gu Mo's smile hadn't faded.

Thinking about what had just happened, he couldn't help but chuckle.

That little fool didn't even realize she had stood up...
