Coronation

Null wants to lead this battle because although he has been training, he doesn't have much fighting experience other than a few skirmishes with bandits and varyn doesn't consider a warrior blooded till they've been on the battlefield

Furthermore although within a few weeks at most a month he would have a breakthrough, he prefers to do it on the battlefield the power system of the black dust continent is one that emphasize physical and martial strength as such most find it easier to find a breakthrough during battle and sometimes during training than while cultivating.this was because the power system emphasizes better control of power and the body than an unreasonable increase in raw power

Even at the iron core stage most warriors will have at most a physique on the level of a certain star spangled hero Null knew from his past life, who always seemed to be able to do it all day, but that was where the comparison ended with supreme body control, aura manipulation, instincts, senses, and techniques, even the weakest of iron core stage warrior could decimate 10 such super soldiers.

"Your grace when will you begin your expedition"valen sighed already knowing he won't be able to change the kings mind.

"A week after the coronation" Null relaxed in his chair" there is much to be done for no.w

Suddenly having a thought " have 10,000 gold coins brought to my chambers later " "yes your grace "valen not bother to ask what for

"Anything else"

"No your grace"

"Dismissed "

Watching them exit the courtroom Null couldn't help but think about the Coronation day .this would be the day he would be officially introduced to his citizens, and his citizens absolutely adored him though they had never met him they knew that the happiness and livelihood they enjoyed were all because of him Null, he ensured they knew that

this wasn't limited to the obsidian hold citizens from other cities surrounding the obsidian hold also enjoyed a better livelihood. this is due to the spillover from the activities of the obsidian hold, after all It is the capital city any change in the capital city would affect the other cities in the kingdom, although to a lesser degree so although he hadn't become king yet he was already loved by his citizens, this was another reason the nobles didn't dare to rebel for years

Obsidian Hold

Outer city

Pov

Gareth Moss

As he walked through the streets of the obsidian hold with his family of five, the old farmer couldn't stop the sense of awe he felt when he beheld the changes the city had gone through in a short of 9 years, it filled him with filled with sense of gratitude .

At his lowest point where he felt he had lost everything, after fleeing from his small farming village in the east with his wife and son. Due to the incursions of the starhaven kingdom, he had hoped to return when the Duke put down the incursion but it's seems even till this day the borders are still turbulent, he had no choice but to settle down in the capital where he believes he and his family would struggle to make ends meet due to the instability of the royal family.

They did struggle, but only for about six months until the prime minister under the orders of the young prince started making reforms.

agriculture, finance, education, military infrastructure hygiene and trade, mentorship all these little yet far reaching changes had citizens sceptical at first but now.

As a man from the lowest rung of society he new when commoners where happy, and this people where happy looking at these citizens rushing to get into the inner city. he knew they were just bursting with devotion, And as an old hand who had experienced the world he knew just how terrifying such devotion was.

Now looking at the inner city there was not much difference between the inner city and the outer both, with wide road and well planned out infrastructure over the years the whole city had been through a complete renovation that the stonemason says leaves room for further development.

Walking through the gates to the inner city, although this was not first time he had seen it, he couldn't but eye the sprawling black behemoth that loomed above the city sitting on an hill

The obsidian keep to a farmer like him and even most nobles of the kingdom looked like something out of a fairy tale a dreadfull one at that. Made completely out of Blackstone it was a symbol of wealth as much as it was of dominance .

Blackstone was a rare building resource used sparingly in buildings of nobility, to make a castle completely out it was a disgusting display of wealth

With it's golden accents at places in the keep, the obsidian keep was without a doubt a jaw dropper.

He looked down noticed he's children in awe at the obsidian keep, it amused him because they don't get to access the inner city as much as he does, except his son who sees it every days since he works at one of the facilities the prince keeps a secret behind the obsidian keep, of course at this point people have been able to guess what goes on there the glass and magic sand didn't appear out of nowhere

Looking away from the obsidian keep he focused on the ongoing jubilation as far as the eye could see thousand upon thousand of individuals lined the main route that led to the obsidian keep, their cheers were

deafening not at all shy to express their support to their monarch, yes although just the crown prince most already considered him king. it was a show of support most kings would never see.

Along the edges of the crowd armored city guards stood with steely determination, their their black - orange armor catching the sunlight their golden ceremonial clocks adding a touch of regality to their imposing presence, although their job was to maintain order they took no specific action to do so their presence was enough.

As a city with a registered population of 500,000, plus guest from neighboring cities and villages the atmosphere was electric.

There was a sudden shift in the atmosphere, all of sudden the already chilling presence of the guards dropped of few degrees colder

simultaneously they bellowed slamming the butts of their halberds on the cobblestone floor

"HAIL THE KING"

Gareth and the citizens almost lost their footing and then they felt it too like the signs of an impending earthquake the earth rumbled, looking downward towards the direction of the city gates he saw it.

The Black Guard in all their menacing glory, the most elite of the kingdom galloped to the obsidian keep like heralds of destruction on beasts that he found difficult to label as horses, as a farmer himself he knew what a horse looked like and that definitely is not it.

but that didn't do much to dampen the awe he felt when the first of the guards passed him by, clad in form fitting black heavy armor they were a sight to behold with halberds, greatswords, spears and various weapons strapped to their backs and a short sword on their hips. They broke the norm of an army using the same weapon, this was because every member of the black guard had at least bronze rank talent and conforming them to weapons not of their chosing would stifle their potential.

Just then at the center of the formation given a wide space to enhance visibility, riding a knightmare that dwarfed every other.

being the only one in the army not wearing an helmet he stood out instantly spotting this figure the crowd went crazy with shouts like " hail the king " " long live the king "long may he reign "

Standing at 6ft4, he effortlessy cut an imposing figure with his black red form fitting armor, accentuated by the royal gold cape fluttering behind him his figure spoke of dominance and regality.

With Abyss colored waist length hair that fell like a waterfall matching his indifferent yet determined eyes, he displayed the grace of a ruler effortlessy.

He was Null Blackfyre

But most would come to know him as

Null "World's wail" Blackfyre.
