Nick looked up at Lola and scrunched his eyebrows. In a deeper voice, he spat, "Talk about what?"
Lola remained silent at his question, and her saddened eyes expressed her melancholy. She could clearly recognize his immense disdain for her.
Nick leaned back on his chair and folded his arms casually, not minding her silence at all.
Lola's lips trembled slightly, as though she was deliberating on her words.
"Hey, I'm at work. What do you want to tell me?" Nick goaded her without even a slight curl on his lips.
He purposely didn't ask her to leave, as that didn't seem to fit right with the idea of "pissing her off" in his head. He had to get her annoyed or angry; shooing her away might not achieve that as she could very well see it as an understandable thing for Nick to do. So instead of getting annoyed or angry, she would just be sad.
