The expressions on Eula, Rick and Brianny's face couldn't be painted as Alfred declared her ownership of Hills and I almost laughed out loud.
"D-dad w..what is she.. talking about?" Rick struggled to speak and Principal Wilson just gave him a slight nod.
"Why?? Does mom know about this?!"
"Rick you can continue your drama later, but you need to get out now, alongside your companion" Alfred reminded him of what she said earlier.
"And Brianny" Alfred turned to face her and warned "this should be the last time you step your filthy foot here or ever show your ugly face in front of Jena"
"You should know better than to let me tell you this a second time"
Brianny fumed uncontrollably but knowing who had the upper hand, she calmed down and spat out four words through her teeth "this. isn't. over. Kristine" she picked up her wig and stormed off.
"Rick? Shouldn't you follow her?" Alfred arched her brow at him but he kept silent.
"You know what? You all can just stay if you want" she rolled her eyes before moving towards me and grabbed my hand.
"Jena let's leave this place" I allowed her to drag me away as I wasn't interested in spending another minute in there.
...
"Kristine why are we here?" I asked in confusion as we entered a very classy restaurant and headed towards a table set for four, eventually turning heads as we passed.
"Are we not allowed to be here?" She replied me as she tilted her head to look at me and her hair flipped to the other side.
"It looks like we came for a date or something and this place looks really expensive"
"That is because we are indeed here on a date" I blinked at her words
"If you're here on a date then why are my with you?"
"I said 'we' not just me Jena"
"What?!"
"Fine! I'm here on a date with my best friend Jena" she raised her hands in defense.
"You can't be serious" I rolled my eyes at her
"Calm down girl, you can't keep sulking and remain single forever"
"This wasn't part of what you said over the phone Kristine, this isn't hanging out!" I glared at her.
Ever since what happened with Eula and Brianny at Mr Wilson's office, I had begin to call her Kristine instead, though she left immediately saying she needs to get someone and visit the old woman she stayed with.
But today she had called me to dress up nicely so we could hang out and talk, she promised to explain everything today.
Not exactly understanding why I needed to dress nicely if I was going to hangout with her, I nevertheless made sure to look my best as she stated.
I wore a sleek, black dress that fell just above my knees, the fitted bodice hugged my curves and accentuated my slender legs. The black fabric gave just the perfect contrast on my dark olive skin.
My black hair cascaded down my back in neat tiny braids with the tips curled and my lips was illuminated by a subtle rosy gloss. Kristine had nicely done my hair edges and gave me just the perfect glam with her skilful hands. I exuded a subtle sensuality in my simple appearance.
Kristine was also killing it in her red strapless dress, the fitted sleeveless dress highlighted her toned shoulders and slender arms, it clinched to her waist and curved out her perfect figure before flaring out into a flirty skirt.
Her deep brown hair was swept over her shoulder in soft loose waves with the unmissable green tinted at it's tips as usual.
Her full lips was curved in a gentle smile, illuminating her entire presence as she sat down gracefully, exuding elegance and I followed suit begrudgingly.
I didn't leave home today with the intention of getting roped into a date, but what should I have expected when Kristine insisted we had to look perfect?
"I have a date with my boyfriend today and I want you to meet him, I asked his brother to come also, so you don't feel like a third wheel or left out. But we are here an hour ahead"
"So we've got enough time to talk" she smiled warmly at me "you don't have to be paranoid Jena, today is going to be great, trust me the guy is really handsome"
"Your boyfriend? Or his brother?" I rolled my eyes at her, well I wasn't exactly angry. I should at least see the guy in question first, come what may?
"Both! but of course, I've got eyes for perfect ones, duh!" She flipped her hair and I couldn't help but laugh.
"So you left me the bad one?"
"No! how would I do that to you? he is a good catch, as your best friend, I have your best interest at heart" she assured me
"I see.." I sounded unconvinced and eyed her
"Oh please!" She scoffed "if he turns out to be really handsome like I said then you own me a treat"
"Whatever" I replied
"Your order?" A waiter approached us
"None for now, just get us a soft drink" Kristine waved dismissively at the waiter who nodded and left, he arrived shortly with the drinks.
"So, your boyfriend.. when did you guys start dating? What is his name? how come I don't know about him?" I suddenly asked
"Leo is his name, it's.. been a while now" a blush crept to her cheeks as she said that, she was really smitten by the Leo guy.
"And his supposed brother?"
"Travis"
"Travis.. hmm" His brother's name was Travis? Well there can't be just one Travis in the world right? there is a high chance it's another person.
"You know Jena, don't you think it would be actually great if we got married to two brothers and become family?"
"Alright! Let's stop here! Why are you suddenly talking about marriage?"
"Fine! Geez you are no fun!" She rolled her eyes "but I really love Leo"
"Shouldn't you be saying this to him instead?" I think her boyfriend would appreciate the confession more though.
She cleared her throat and took a deep breath "now Jena, I promised to explain everything about me, so I will start now"
"Wait, I will go first" I stopped her from saying anything before me. I had to tell my story first before I won't be able to find the courage anymore.
She gave me an understanding smile and wrapped her arms around me in a warm embrace "don't worry Jena, I... know" she muttered "I know everything, all what happened to you. I know it all"
What?!
