Chapter 06; Discovery

"Doctor! How long will Lucas be unconscious for?" We see Amanda questioning the doctor in charge of Lucas in a scared tone.

The man, who was wearing a lab coat and glasses looked at his file before his face darkened. He looked back at Amanda and replied.

"Due to over use of his Executive abilities, his hearts have been severely damaged. We managed to remove his main heart from his body through surgery, which was very difficult because of his regeneration. And currently, I believe that after we fix the heart to his circulatory system, he'll wake up in about... two months..."

Amanda felt a rush of sadness. She covered her mouth and began crying. The doctor saw this and said.

"I'll let you be." He turned around and walked out.

Amanda looked back at Lucas and cried like she had never before

"The exam is in a month... how will we be together..?" Amanda asked herself. "Why universe? What did Lucas do to you, for you to treat him like this?" She fell onto Lucas' hand and cried more. "Everytime... you've made him suffer, why?"

What Amanda didn't know was that she had talked aloud and that more people were outside the door.

"What do you mean by that?" A voice questioned Amanda.

Ahead looked back to see Hell-Flame, Frozena, Normyre and Angelica. She stood up quickly wiping away her tears.

"Would you care to elaborate what you mean by 'you've made him suffer'?" Normyre asked.

Amanda; although reluctant, decided to answer the old mage's question.

She slowly lifted up Lucas' shirt. And under it, there were numerous bruises, burn marks and other injuries I can't explain without making you throw up.

"The hell is this?" Hell-Flame asked as he clenched his fist. Amanda unwillingly answered the hero.

"Lucas' father passed away when he was only seven. His mother moved away to Japan when he was nine. He has been left with his uncle for the past six years." She looked at Lucas with years in her eyes. "You could probably think up the rest."

Frozena looked at Lucas and then at Amanda.

"But what about his regeneration?" Frozena asked. Amanda replied in a sadder tone.

"Executive halts his abilities." The heroes were taken aback.

"You... don't mean..." Angelica muttered. Amanda nodded.

"Yes, they inject him with it when they want to make him go through hell..."

The male heroes looked at Lucas with rage like Sat@n. Normyre looked at Hell-Flame and said,

"We should go and pay a 'visit' to Lucas' uncle..." Hell-Flame nodded before cracking his knuckles.

Both of them turned around to leave when Amanda called out to them.

"WAIT!" The heroes looked back. "Lucas told me to NEVER tell anyone about this... if he learns about pur conversation, I can tell bye-bye to our frienship!"

Normyre looked at Lucas and asked.

"But he's a prodigy, he SHOULD know that you did this for HIS betterment!!" Amanda replied with more sadness.

"His mother made him swore to never use his abilities against his uncle... someone as loyal as Lucas is never going to go back on his word..." Amanda looked back at the heroes and stretched out her hand.

"Promise me... that Lucas will NEVER know about this conversation." The heroes looked at each other with doubt, but eventually they gave in.

Unknown to the heroes, Lucas had another visitor... Evan Avalon
