The weight of the flash drive in my palm feels heavier than it should. A single piece of metal, yet it holds the power to bring Victoria to her knees.

But power is a dangerous thing. And Victoria isn't the type to go down without a fight.

Lydia stares at the screen, scanning the encrypted files over and over, as if trying to burn the words into her brain. "This changes everything," she murmurs.

Michael, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, finally speaks. "It would. If we had time."

I frown. "What do you mean?"

He leans against the desk, arms crossed, the usual smug grin absent from his face. "You really think Victoria doesn't already know this exists? If Whitmore gave it to us, it means one of two things: Either she's already covered her tracks, or he's trying to save his own ass before she buries him."

Lydia curses under her breath, rubbing her temples. "So, what? This is worthless?"
