Chapter 13

Main Xavier Estate, Salem Center, North Salem, New York,

"Welcome back, madam," the head butler, Edward Wilkins, greeted Sharon with a respectful nod. His eyes shifted to Charles, and a polite smile followed. "And this must be Master Charles."

Charles gave a small nod. "Yeah, that's me. What's your name?"

"Edward Wilkins, young master. It's a pleasure to meet you." Edward's smile softened as he turned back to Sharon. "I heard the news... My deepest condolences, madam."

Sharon managed a weak smile. "Thank you, Ed. We'll get through it."

"You must be tired after the long flight," Edward said, glancing at the staff. "Maids!"

Within seconds, a group of maids arrived, ready to assist Sharon. Charles, however, waved them off. "I'll be fine. I want to explore a bit."

Edward stepped forward with a respectful bow. "Allow me to be your guide, young master."

"Sure," Charles agreed, turning to his mother. "You go ahead and rest, Mom."

Sharon gave him a tired smile. "Okay, sweetie. Don't be out too long."

As Sharon retired, Charles and Edward began their tour of the expansive Xavier Estate. The estate's grandeur was undeniable—centuries of wealth and prestige radiated from every room.

"So, Edward," Charles started, hands in his pockets, "what did you do before becoming the butler for the Xavier family?"

"I've been a butler most of my life," Edward replied, his tone steady. "Started young, worked my way up."

Charles raised an eyebrow. "So, you climbed the ranks?"

"Quite so, young master," Edward chuckled. "But, may I ask, why the curiosity?"

Charles shrugged. "Just wanted to understand the people around me." After a brief pause, he asked, "How much wealth do the Xaviers have, exactly?"

Edward hesitated for a moment, surprised by the directness of the question. "Quite a bit, young master. The Xavier family holds numerous stock portfolios, bonds, and other financial investments. Not to mention the properties—land, buildings, businesses. Why do you ask?"

Charles slowed his pace, his expression hardening slightly. "Because I'm the head of the Xavier family now. My mother... I doubt she knows much about the finances, and I don't want her burdened. From now on, I'll be overseeing everything."

Edward blinked, momentarily stunned. He had known Charles was brilliant for his age, but this level of responsibility? It caught him off guard. "Understood, young master. You've... grown more mature than I anticipated."

"I need a full report on the financial situation," Charles continued, his voice calm but authoritative. "I want to make sure everyone is paid properly, and that no one is embezzling from the family funds."

Edward bowed slightly. "I'll have the report delivered to your room."

As they continued their walk, Charles was lost in thought. 'I need to renovate a lot of this place if I want to turn it into a school. The facilities are lacking… but the foundation is good.'

They finished the tour, having seen nearly every room in the vast estate.

"Would you like anything to eat, young master?" Edward offered.

Charles thought for a moment. "Grilled salmon with quinoa, roasted sweet potatoes, and a side of mixed greens with olive oil dressing," he said, almost absentmindedly. "Oh, and I'll give you my meal plan later so you won't have to ask again."

"Of course, young master," Edward replied, heading off to instruct the kitchen.

Charles sat in the dining room, waiting for his meal, his mind racing. 'I also need to optimize how I replicate knowledge. Maybe I can absorb it from people around town...'

When the food arrived, Charles began eating, but his thoughts drifted again. 'This meal plan is fine for a regular person, but I'm aiming to be something more—a fighter, a leader. I need something better.'

As he ate, the beginnings of a new, perfected meal plan formed in his mind—one designed for his ultimate transformation.

'Hmm, what kind of workout routine should I do?' Charles began planning for his own workout routine.

He with knowledge knows some normal calisthenics won't give him the optimal growth.

He cross his arms and began tapping the ground.

Each day brought a new exercise regimen, designed to prevent his body from adapting to a repetitive routine. As he noticed improvements, he increased the number of sets to continuously challenge himself.

Charles leaned back, feeling satisfied with the routine he had crafted to match both his current abilities and his physical condition.

"Hmm, now that I think about it, where's Mystique?" he muttered. "Did she just quit? I thought she might be a good fit for the team, but I guess today's not my lucky day."

He shrugged it off, knowing he still had a long journey ahead before he could seriously think about forming a team. For now, his focus was solely on pushing his own limits.
