Our love reaffirm itself

I went to the office on Monday and went through my daily tasks. As I got off work, I stopped by the supermart to get some groceries. I would make Kelvin and irresistible dinner and we would talk out our differences. I came back home and he wasn't home. I decided to start cooking and when I was done. He still wasn't back. I picked my ohoen to call him. His number was unavailable. It's getting late already. He should be back by now. I was getting worried at this point. I sat on the couch and tried his number a few times. Maybe his battery went flat, he should be home soon. I slept off unknowingly only to wake up the next morning. The food was untouched. I checked around the house. It was the same as I left it last night.

I understand that he was angry or somwthing but how could he stay out without saying anything to me? I tried his number again. Switched off it said. I decided to call some of his friends, maybe they saw him or it was a group thing. They all said they didn't see him last night. I had left several messages for him at this point. I was almost freaking out at this point but I reminded myself that he was an adult who decided to stay out.

I pulled myself together and got ready for work. I really couldn't concentrate at work, I kept checking my phone for anything from him a call, message or anything at all. I was really worried at this point because he has never acted like this even while we were dating. I decided to go to the police at my lunch break. I was really worried at this point. In that moment, i heard a beep, it was a text from Kelvin. "I'm fine. I'll be in New York for about 2-3 week." I called his number immediately but he hung up. I decided to text him back "

"Thank goodness you are fine. I was so worried. What do you mean new York. Please pick my call. I need to talk to you." Then waited anxiously for a reply or call.

About 5 minutes later which felt like forever, I heard the beep, his response was "It is better we don't talk right now. I'll be really busy with work here. Talk to you later."

I guess he is busy. Now I know he is fine. We will talk later. I got back to work.

We didn't communicate for almost a week. I didn't understand what was going on anymore. He was not picking my calls, returning them or even responding to my messages.

Late into Thursday night, i heard some noise and was frightened. It's late who could be at the door at this hour. I was curious. "Who could that be?" I wondered as I wore my night gown to go check. I was surprised at who it was. Kelvin? At this time? I wondered

I tried to help him with his luggage before asking him, "Why didn't you text? I could have picked you up at the airport. How was your journey?"

He hugged me tight, breathed my scent and whispered "I missed you".

"Are you fine?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just really missed you." He hugged me tightly.

What happened? I wondered.

"Come sit, come sit." I pushed his travelbox aside and gestured to the couch.

"Have you eaten? Do you want me to make something for you?" I asked as I stood up to go into the kitchen to whip something for him if he was hungry. He pulled me back and hugged me and said "No, I'm not hungry. I'm sorry for the way I behaved. I'm so sorry Vivian, it will never happen again. I promise ".

"No, I'm the one who should be apologising. I should have balanced my work and home better." I apologised.

"Don't apologise, you did nothing wrong." He responded as he placed a kiss on my hand.

"It is late. You must be tired. I want to sleep. Can you come sleep with me." He pulled me to him leading to the bedroom.

"Yeah sure. I'm coming. Let me take your luggage inside." I tried to reasonably with him but he wasn't having any of that.

"Leave it. Just come with me." He insisted as he went up the stairs together.

He took a shower and joined me in bed. We slept in each other's arms and all was fine again.

We ate breakfast together and I left for work. He dropped me off at work. I got a text later in the day, it read, "Let's go out for a dinner date tonight. So please dear wife, clock out on time my love." I laughed and replied "Alright love." Almost instantly, his response came, "I will be there to pick you up." "Alright love." I replied and got back to what I was doing.

At Home

After Kelvin picked me up from the office, he told me to get changed into a dress as he was already in a tuxedo. Eargerly I ascended the stairs, my heels clicking on the marble floor. I took a quick shower and slipped into a stunning red gown, its silk fabric hugging my curves. "Yes this is the right choice for tonight. "

Downstairs, Kelvin awaited looking so good in his tailored tuxedo. As i descended the stairs, his eyes locked onto mine. His smile hinted at some mischief and my curiosity piqued.

"What's going on?" I asked, adjusting my earrings.

"You look breathtaking. Tonight's special," he said, offering his hand.

I took it, feeling a flutter in my chest. He led me the car and as we settled into the plush leather seat. "Where are we going?" I asked, excitement building.

"Somewhere special," he replied, his eyes crinkling.

We agreed at the restaurant and it was so beautuful. "Wow," I breathed.

Kelvin smiled. "I wanted somewhere special."

Inside, we were ushered to a cozy, intimate table. The music the wine, the cuisine, the decor, absolutely amazing. Over dinner, we laughed and reminisced, as I teased him on how he found this place. I've always loved the violin. We got lost in the rendition.

As twilight deepened, Kelvin's eyes locked onto mine. "My love," he whispered, "I am so sorry. My words were thoughtless, and my actions are nothing to write home about. I really hurt you and I am so sorry for everything"

My heart swelled, "I am also sorry. I should have handled that better too," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

We strolled through the vineyard, hand in hand, beneath a star-studded sky. Kelvin's fingers intertwined with mine, sending shivers down my spine.

Suddenly, he halted, his gaze burning with an unspoken emotion. "I love you," he said.

My lips curved into a smile. "I love you too."

In that moment, as we stood there, wrapped in the silence of the vineyard, I felt our love reaffirm itself.

"Thank you for tonight," I whispered.

Kelvin's smile softened. "I am glad you enjoyed it". With tender reverence, Kelvin's lips brushed against mine.
