Chapter 2. Dual System, Character Card: Patchouli
The Dimensional Chatroom is currently binding...
The Shapeshifting System is currently binding...
"..."
Kaguya Houraisan's movements paused, and her eyes narrowed.
Having regained her past life's memories, she naturally knew what a "system" was.
But after living for so many years, her attitude toward the system was clearly different from an ordinary person's.
Her first instinct was rejection, immediately suspecting it was some sort of conspiracy.
However, after some thought, Kaguya decided to allow the system to bind with her.
"Fine, let me see what this is all about."
The Shapeshifting System primarily revolves around transformation.
The system's function is simple: you draw character cards, and by using them, you can transform into the corresponding character.
After briefly examining it, Kaguya's eyes began to gleam with interest.
This system seemed perfect for having some fun!
*Note: This is a fanfiction. Please follow the settings in this book.*
Also, regarding the age issue, we'll go with a certain ZUN's interview after drinking: Eirin and Kaguya's ages are measured in billions.
(Though it's an old statement from 2005.)
---
By drawing cards, one can transform.
As long as she could draw the corresponding card, Kaguya could even transform into Eirin or her own eccentric mother.
But that's not all—the system also allowed her to travel to other worlds.
Not only could she cause some mischief, but she might also use this to find a better way to leave the Lunar Capital.
However, the system gave her one free beginner's draw.
And it was guaranteed to be a five-star card.
Kaguya's expression turned a bit strange at that.
A free draw with a guaranteed five-star? It felt like she was playing some online game.
But, whatever—might as well draw and see what happens.
Moments later, Kaguya held a card between her delicate fingers.
The Immovable Great Library, Patchouli Knowledge
Seeing the beautiful girl on the card surrounded by a dazzling array of Seven-Colored Magic, Kaguya felt mixed emotions.
"Patchouli, huh..."
It's not like she was hoping to draw some powerful card and immediately transform to smash the Lunar Capital.
Even with two systems now, she hadn't given up on her original plan.
She didn't mind getting stronger through the system, but for now, her thoughts leaned more toward using it for fun.
As someone who had lived for eons, she couldn't easily trust external powers or place her bets on something of unknown origin.
Her complicated feelings were mainly because...
She quite liked Patchouli.
"Guess if I like her, I should become her, right?"
Kaguya rubbed her forehead with her pale fingers.
Now, she was a bit worried about whether she'd draw Eirin's card next.
Leaving aside her past life, her current fondness for Eirin was undeniably high.
Although, thinking about it, it might be pretty interesting...
But that was for later.
She put the card away.
For now, Kaguya had no intention of testing out the transformation.
Her gaze shifted to the other system.
—The Dimensional Chatroom.
This one had shown up quite often in her past memories.
The Moon Princess has joined the chatroom.
The Fairy Tale Witch has joined the chatroom.
The Pink Fairy has joined the chatroom.
The Necromancer has joined the chatroom.
Including Kaguya, the chatroom only had four members.
Ignoring the other members for now, Kaguya first checked out the chatroom's info.
It contained some details about the chatroom's origins and rules.
For example, there was no concept of a leader or administrator here.
The chatroom was created by the collective wills of various worlds, intended to address requests issued by those wills.
Chatroom members could choose to accept these requests or not.
Members were encouraged to interact peacefully, and any infighting would be punished by the world's will.
It didn't seem to be one of those stories where a male protagonist gets a chatroom system, then uses it to deceive and manipulate others before gathering them into his harem.
As for whether Kaguya believed it...
She did.
There was a genuine power of the world's will embedded in the text. That kind of power couldn't be faked.
Believing was one thing, but actually taking on requests was another matter.
Since the chatroom didn't enforce any mandatory requirements, Kaguya decided she'd only take on requests that piqued her interest.
After reading the info, Kaguya finally looked at the other members.
Pink Fairy: A chatroom connecting different worlds?
Pink Fairy: Wow, I never thought something this magical could exist.
Pink Fairy: Hm? My name is Pink Fairy? It sounds... pretty fitting! I like it! 😊
Pink Fairy: Still, gathering everyone together and telling us to get along—those world wills sure are demanding.
Pink Fairy: Look, no one else is even talking.
So far, only the Pink Fairy had spoken.
Among the three, the Fairy Tale Witch and Pink Fairy were easy to identify.
Most likely, they were Kuonji Utsuho and Alicia.
As someone looking for fun, Kaguya was quite pleased to see these two. She was intrigued by both them and their worlds.
As for the Necromancer...
That one she couldn't figure out.
There were just too many characters associated with necromancers in her memories.
Moon Princess: I was just reading the chatroom's info.
Moon Princess: This seems pretty interesting and might be good for passing the time.
Moon Princess: As for getting along, let time take care of that. Though who knows how long that might take, and there could be some misunderstandings along the way.
Pink Fairy: I'm touched—someone finally spoke up! 😭
Pink Fairy: But Princess, just thinking about getting along gives me a headache... 😵
Moon Princess: It can't be helped. Let's wait and see. Maybe the world's will won't stand for it and will intervene. 😏

Kaguya Houraisan: …
Alicia: …
Eucliwood: …
Kuonji Utsuho: …
Kaguya Houraisan: Well, that was straightforward.
Alicia: Wow, is it my lucky day? Everyone here is so cute! 😍
Eucliwood: Hello, everyone…
The chat livened up a bit, but Kuonji Utsuho didn't join the conversation.
After all, as a somewhat reclusive Fairy Tale Witch, she wouldn't easily engage, even in a chatroom like this.
Before long, everyone left, presumably to attend to their own matters.
Whether they actually had things to do, well, who could say?
Even though the names and avatars had been changed, it was clear that fostering smooth, friendly interactions would take time.
But time was something Kaguya had plenty of.
So, she didn't feel the need to take any action to change the chatroom's atmosphere. Let things develop naturally.
Besides, she was more eager to see Eirin.
She wanted to discuss the plan to leave the Lunar Capital with her.
---
Some time later—
"Princess, did you call for me?"
Eirin Yagokoro stood outside Kaguya's chambers.
"Yes, Eirin, come in."
From within the chamber, Kaguya's melodious voice beckoned.
