Chavu woke in Marcellus's arms. The vampire was running his fingers through the Naga's hair, chin resting on Chavu's head. The Naga wiggled in the hold and stretched.
"Good morning, Marcy," Chavu murmured, sleep still having quite the grip on him.
"Good morning, my little snake," Marcellus placed a kiss on the top of Chavu's head and let go of him.
No matter how many times the vampire used the pet name, Chavu still blushed. It was sweet and something that only Marcellus had the right to use, as far as Chavu was concerned.
They got out of the bed and their routine started. The sheets were gathered, the new bed covers were placed. The pillows were fluffed, rose water was sprinkled on the bed. The candles were extinguished, all but the ones near the door. They would light them again tonight.
Then, it was a quick bath in the pond cavern, and, finally, passing by the moat with the frogs, to reach the table where the gnomes were already seated.
